This ancient Japanese ceramic firing technique in which 1800° glowing red hot works are removed from the kiln and placed into a reduction chamber filled with combustibles is sure to inflame and inspire. Personal bisque fired works can be glazed and fired. Pieces will be available for those who want to participate.

Festive Mask Making

Come transform yourself into any creature you’d like! In this two hour workshop, students will learn how to make a festive mask out of felt! Basic sewing and embroidery techniques will be covered.

Make and Take Tuesdays Kids’ Cooking Classes with Tummy Time Foods

It’s not your average After-School Class.
Bring your kids to make a home-cooked meal to take home and enjoy with the family. It’s a fun, hands-on activity where the kids learn basic cooking skills, family nutrition tips and it all ends with a delicious take-home dinner prepared in-class — all without the planning, shopping, prep or mess at home.

Each meal will feed up to 5-6 people and is prepared in disposable take-home bake and serve containers. You also receive a copy of the recipe with (re)heating instructions.

What is Moms In Training?
Moms In Training is a flexible, 12-week training program for Savannah area moms to get in shape, meet other moms and help fight blood cancers. Trainings take place for one hour on the weekends with other social event opportunities during the week.

Even though it’s called Moms in Training, dads are welcome to join, too. You don’t necessarily need to be a mom to take part. If someone is interested in training for the half marathon relay and has lots of patience with kiddos, they are welcome to join the program too.

Why Join?
Leukemia is the most common cancer in children and adolescents less than 20 years old. In 1964, the chance of surviving Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood leukemia, was 3%. Thanks to treatments advanced by LLS, children 15 years old and younger who are fighting ALL today have a 92% chance for survival.

LLS and Moms In Training participants are saving lives, and all moms are invited to join the fight for a cure.

Can I bring my child to trainings?
Yes! As long as your baby is able to remain in the stroller, you are welcome to bring him or her to trainings. The workouts allow you to exercise with a stroller, but it is not necessary. Some moms prefer to use the hour as “me” time.

What do trainings consist of?
Trainings will consist of running, walking, cross training and stretching.

I’m not an athlete! Can I really do this?
Yes! Moms of all levels join the program. You will receive incredible coach support as well as a training calendar that you can follow on your own. The program is extremely flexible, and you are supported 100% of the way.

How much do I fundraise to participate?
Moms commit to raising $500 to help fight blood cancers. There is a $50 registration fee to join which is credited toward your fundraising goal. Upon registering, you will receive your own fundraising website as well as fundraising support from LLS staff. The average mom raises $1,500!

I know someone personally affected by cancer. Can I train in honor or memory of them?
Absolutely. Moms in Training encourages you to honor someone you know who has been affected by ANY type of cancer.

This month’s theme is ‘Bugs, Bugs, BUGS in my backyard!’

Play dates will be held on Thursday July 23 at 10am and again on Saturday July 25 at 10am. Children newborns to 7 years old are welcome. Make and Take Tuesdays Kids’ Cooking Classes

Tuesdays at 4-5pm
Frank Murray Community Center, Whitemarsh Is.

It’s not your average After-School Class.
Bring your kids to make a home-cooked meal to take home and enjoy with the family. It’s a fun, hands-on activity where the kids learn basic cooking skills, family nutrition tips and it all ends with a delicious take-home dinner prepared in-class — all without the planning, shopping, prep or mess at home.

Each meal will feed up to 5-6 people and is prepared in disposable take-home bake and serve containers. You also receive a copy of the recipe with (re)heating instructions.

This class is open to children of all ages. Parents are welcomed to accompany their child in the class, or you can drop them off.

Cost is $45 per family and includes hands-on cooking lesson, family nutrition tips and a delicious take-home meal prepared in-class in take-home bake and serve containers, complete with a copy of the recipe with (re)heating instructions.

Come join Savannah FIT4MOM Stroller Strides INSIDE at the Savannah Mall to get your workout in with your baby or toddler, make friends with some awesome mamas, and STAY COOL.

Stroller Strides® is a stroller-based fitness program designed for moms with little ones. Each 60-minute, total body workout incorporates running or power walking, strength, toning, songs and activities. Their certified fitness instructors are specially trained in pre and post-natal fitness and offer a variety of fun class formats both indoors and outdoors.

All locations also offer a free playgroup with Our Village so moms can form lasting friendships with other moms through organized play dates, Moms’ Nights Out, and activities for the whole family.

Kids’ Night Out: Avengers Assemble!

All parents deserve a break once in a while. Instead of leaving your kids home with a babysitter, drop them off for a fun-filled Avengers-themed Kids’ Night Out with Tummy Time Foods in the TTF Kitchen in Savannah.

Tuesday, July 14: “Sugar Shock”: Make yummy snacks using all-natural sugar alternatives. 

Tuesday, July 21: “Summer Salads”: A great dressing, and even a wrap, can take a simple salad from yummy to spectacular. 

Tuesday, July 28: “Energy Bites”: Make quick and easy snacks to keep you fueled all day long.
