Dancing Robots program for 6th-8th grade students

Would you like to teach a Robot to dance?

No experience or dancing skills necessary! Members of the Society of Women Engineers will teach you everything you need to know. Students will learn how to work with an EV3 Lego Mindstorm robot to program/create their dance.

Watch out you might just learn some new moves (while learning STEM)! Space is limited.
6th – 8th grade students.

“Love My Card” Balloon Party

September is Library Card Signup Month and we’re celebrating with a special balloon party presented by Savannah Balloons! A library card isn’t required to attend the program (but if you don’t already have one, it’s a perfect time to “get carded!”). Ages 3 and up.

Family Reading Night/Camp in the Library

Come relax at Family Reading Night at the Garden City Branch of the Live Oak Public Libraries. This is a night of stories, songs and s’mores as the Library transforms into campgrounds complete with tents, glow-in-the-dark stars and Lanterns. Enjoy a read-aloud from our children’s librarian, take part in camping related games and activities, learn about the benefits of sharing longer books with your children and get suggestions for chapter books and longer stories that the whole family can enjoy as our nights grow longer and colder.

Wear your favorite camp attire, bring your sleeping bag and come camp out with a good book
