Children ages 3 years-5th grade are invited to Vacation Bible School, June 16-20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Jungle Safari is coming to First Presbyterian Church in Savannah.

Children will learn that God is their creator, provider, and savior through Bible stories, songs, and games. They will explore the nature of God, and learn to serve God with their hearts, minds, and hands. The cost for the week is $20 for the 1st child, $10 for each additional child(ren).

Drum, guitar lessons in Savannah Experienced musician Ira Miller in Savannah is accepting new students starting June 10th!

Offering lessons drums (beginner and intermediate), guitar (beginner), and ear training and basic theory.

Ira’s approach is more than just playing the instrument. It’s about connecting with music through various exercises and methods such as listening to samples of various styles or learning rhythms by clapping to different beats.

Ira Miller has over 5 years teaching experience and has a received a BFA in Music from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA.

Accepting students ages 8 and up. $25/half hour & $45/hour.

Babies newborns through age 2 will be doing “Mama Goose” at 9:30am and toddlers ages 2 and 3 will be doing “Colors and Shapes on the Farm” at 10:20am! All classes meet on Mondays.

National Train Day Savannah  Georgia State Railroad Museum in Savannah is located in the former Central of Georgia Roundhouse and Repair Shops Complex at Savannah.

The repair shops complex that houses Georgia State Railroad Museum is recognized as the largest collection of Antebellum railroad structures in the United States.

The historic railroad structures at the Georgia State Railroad Museum site include a partial Roundhouse with operating turntable, partial Machine Shop, Tender Frame Shop, Blacksmith Shop, Boiler House, Storehouse & Print Shop, Lumber and Planing Sheds, Coach and Paint Shops, and a partial Carpentry Shop which now houses Savannah Children’s Museum. Many of these structures are open for visitors to explore.

Junior Ranger Day Fort Pulaski Savannah As part of National Park Week 2014 (April 19 – 27), Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah will hold special Junior Ranger Day activities on Saturday, April 26 2014, starting at 10 AM

Participants at Fort Pulaski can earn a special Junior Ranger Day certificate and patch by participating in a variety of experiences to learn more about the National Park Service and Fort Pulaski National Monument. Activities will include historic weapons drills, like those conducted by the Civil War soldiers that once lived and worked at Fort Pulaski.

Children will be able to do special activity sheets to earn National Park Service Civil War trading cards and explore the park while completing the park Junior Ranger program and earning a Junior Ranger badge.
