Summer “Guppy” Camp for ages 5-7
This is a program for children 5-7 years of age. This program will introduce the sport of sailing to water loving children. Our curriculum will focus on safety around the water and will introduce the sport of sailing with age appropriate activities. Children must know how to swim and will wear lifejackets at all times while on the water.

Summer “Catch the Wind” Full-Day Camp for ages 8 & older
“Catch the Wind” summer camp program is designed for kids ages 8 and older of all abilities and skill levels. The classes are structured to allow for maximum sailing time and personal attention. Beginners participate in a small 8ft Optimist or 15ft Sunfish sailboat, depending on their size. Those with more experience can sail in a 2-person 420 sailboat, also used for high school and college sailing. The summer camp instructors follow the US Sailing curriculum and skills learned are documented with the US Sailing certification record book.
“Catch the Wind” is offered as a full day camp 8:30AM-4:30PM.

Horses chosen for the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch must be at least three years of age, stand approximately 18 hands – or six feet – at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds, must be bay in color, have four white legs, and a blaze of white on the face and black mane and tail. A gentle temperament is very important as hitch horses meet millions of people each year.

A single Clydesdale hitch horse will consume as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.

Each hitch travels with a Dalmatian. In the early days of brewing, Dalmatians were bred and trained to protect the horses and guard the wagon when the driver went inside to make deliveries.

Pottery camp at Savannah’s Clay Spot is a unique opportunity for children to work as actual artist in a professional ceramic studio. Each week young students will learn a variety of ceramic techniques. Imagine a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) Summer Camp in Savannah for 4th-9th graders that has everything.

There’s a free play gaming week before and after camp for only $150/week where the kids can just come to The Guild Hall and blow off steam.

Mini Matisse: Kids Art Workshop for ages 9-11 in Savannah

Class skills based on dry media drawing skills, observation and reproduction.

Students will learn how to look at objects and images and begin the basics of using scale, proportion and texture to create their dry media (charcoal, graphite, pastel) drawings. Students will be asked to build on what they know in each workshop, no preregistration needed and children can jump in on any of the workshop dates!

Do Re We: Sing, Dance, Learn for Toddlers Ages 0-4 in Savannah

Classes are divided by age group:
2-3 Year Olds 9:30 – 10:15 am
Infants (1-12 months) 10:30 – 11:15 am
Toddlers (13-24 months) 11:30-12:15 pm

Every Thursday until March 30th
Prorated for the remaining available sessions.

Instructor Becca Flaherty will lead you and your child through 45 minutes of folk songs, nursery rhymes, games, children’s literature, and Classical music each week. Based in research of childhood develpment, behavior, and learning modality, your child will develop essential skills, both musical and non-musical. The songs and games you learn in class will make their way into your everyday routine, enhancing quality time.

Caregivers are required to participate; your child will learn best by watching and imitating your example. Don’t worry: even if you can’t carry a tune in a bucket, you and your child will have a good time. Leave the performance anxiety behind and enjoy singing, dancing, and making music with your child.

Savannah Sailing Center will host The 6th Annual Sailing Regatta for Children with Autism and Special needs, providing an opportunity for them and their families to experience the joy of sailing and open up a new world of interest.

If you have a child with autism/special needs please bring him/her along with the entire family free of charge to Lake Mayer on Saturday, April 8, 2017, 10AM-2PM and sail with the wind. A parent or guardian must accompany all children.
