Summer “Guppy” Camp for ages 5-7
This is a program for children 5-7 years of age. This program will introduce the sport of sailing to water loving children. Our curriculum will focus on safety around the water and will introduce the sport of sailing with age appropriate activities. Children must know how to swim and will wear lifejackets at all times while on the water.

Summer “Catch the Wind” Full-Day Camp for ages 8 & older
“Catch the Wind” summer camp program is designed for kids ages 8 and older of all abilities and skill levels. The classes are structured to allow for maximum sailing time and personal attention. Beginners participate in a small 8ft Optimist or 15ft Sunfish sailboat, depending on their size. Those with more experience can sail in a 2-person 420 sailboat, also used for high school and college sailing. The summer camp instructors follow the US Sailing curriculum and skills learned are documented with the US Sailing certification record book.
“Catch the Wind” is offered as a full day camp 8:30AM-4:30PM @ Lake Mayer, Savannah; May 27-July 26 2019.

Savannah Sailing Center will host The 6th Annual Sailing Regatta for Children with Autism and Special needs, providing an opportunity for them and their families to experience the joy of sailing and open up a new world of interest.

If you have a child with autism/special needs please bring him/her along with the entire family free of charge to Lake Mayer on Saturday, April 8, 2017, 10AM-2PM and sail with the wind. A parent or guardian must accompany all children.

Own a business & want to have a booth to disperse information? All you need to do is provide an arts and craft activity for approximately 200 children and make a monetary donation to Savannah Sailing Center in lieu of a booth charge. SSC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

After the great success of their elementary & middle school sailing program last year, the Savannah Sailing Center will offer an eight-week Fall 2016 program @ Lake Mayer.

The start date is Tues. Sept. 6, 2016 and the class size will be limited. Deadline for registration: Fri. Sept. 1 2016 on a first come, first serve basis.

Class Dates: Tuesdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27, & Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25, 2016
Time: 4-7PM
Place: Lake Mayer
Students: Must be able to swim and at least 8 years of age
Cost: $250/SSC Member

*Please note students will be given a swim check and capsize drill the first day of class, so bring an extra set of dry clothes. The class will begin at 4PM and end at 7PM. Parents must sign their child in at the beginning of class and sign them out at the end of class.

Can’t get enough of summer?
Make it last a little longer by taking part in the sailing lessons offered by Savannah Sailing Center at Lake Mayer.

Fun instructors, beautiful setting, great introduction to the sport. The Sailing Center offers Saturday lessons during the year, noon-4PM @ Lake Mayer on the following dates:
Aug. 6.20 & 27;
Sept. 10,17 & 24
Oct. 15, 22 & 29.

Sailing lessons for both adults and children ages 8 & older are available on scheduled Saturdays. The course includes 4 hours of instruction, follows the US Sailing curriculum, and is documented with the US Sailing certification record book. Students are required to call or email the office to register for lessons.

Cost

SSC Member- $55/lesson
Non SSC Member – $75/lesson
SSC Certified Member Open Sail- $10/person
