So thankful to have spent a leaf-peeping day in Greenville SC this fall.
If you’re looking for a fall getaway, we suggest taking the kids to Greenville. While there, either bike the Swamp Rabbit Trail (a 22-mile multi-use leisure trail) or visit the parks and playgrounds along the trail if your kids aren’t old enough to bike.
Georgia State Railroad Museum and Savannah Children’s Museum will transform into a magical Harry Potter-themed experience during “Frogwarts” on Sun. Oct. 16 2022, 11AM-3PM.
This year’s classes will include Wand Making, Potions, Fortune Telling, Defense Against the Dark Arts: Glow in the Dark Fun!, Care of Magical Creatures, Quill Writing, Herbology, Muggle Studies, and Quidditch. Attendees can also take a ride on Georgia State Railroad Museum’s locomotive, the Frogwarts Express, or visit Ingotts Wizarding Bank. Visit the Owlery with Georgia Southern University’s Center for Wildlife Education and enjoy a musical selection from Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts’ Garrison Voices.
Some community partners will also be leading workshops, including Georgia Reptile Society. The Lowcountry Turners will be creating unique wooden wands. Harry-Potter themed food will be available for purchase.
Please dress in any Halloween or Harry Potter-themed costume of your choice!
Cost of admission: $14 per person for non-members; $12 per person for Coastal Heritage Society members.

“Mental illness still has a lot of stigma surrounding it, especially when it comes to children,” SouthCoast Health Pediatrician Dr. Nelson Elam (pictured) stated. “And yet, that number of children with a mental illness is more than the number of children with cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It’s time we stop being hesitant to talk about mental illnesses that are potentially harming our children.”
