Take a peek into Tinkerbell’s magical world “In the Hollow” on Nov. 8 2014 in Savannah

Tinkerbell, along with a couple of her fairy friends, will be hosting three one-hour-long pixie parties.

Cost per child is $20 and each party is limited to 18 children.

What Is Classical Conversations?

CLASSICAL
The first key to a great education is that it is “classical.” By that we mean the classical model of education which has proven effective over time. Parent Practicums are free and available to anyone interested in classical, Christian education. Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah salutes veterans with special programs Nov. 8 & 9 2014 & free admission on Veterans Day Nov. 11.

November 8-9: Fort Pulaski National Monument will honor our nation’s veterans with a special living history event in the historic fort. The 48th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment will recreate many aspects of daily life at a major Civil War-era post.

A variety of programs will be offered throughout the weekend allowing visitors to learn about military inspections, mail calls, barracks life, and infantry drills. A special military salute to veterans will be offered at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

FREE admission Nov. 11: To commemorate Veterans Day, the National Park Service will waive all entrance fees. Savannah’s national park – Fort Pulaski National Monument – will be fee free Tuesday, November 11.

JEA Preschool Savannah is a part of the ALEF Fund program, which offers scholarships to Pre-K students.

The ALEF Fund is a Georgia Tax Credit Student Scholarship Organization. The JEA Preschool Savannah is able to distribute the dollars collected through the ALEF Fund to Pre K families for the upcoming school year.

These funds greatly subsidize current tuition for the four year old core and afternoon program fees.

Free Family Day Activities November 1

Telfair Museums presents three days of free admission to Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center for the Arts and Whitfield Lovell: Deep River on Nov. 1-3. Included in the free days is an activity filled Free Family Day on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 4 pm. Jepson Center is at 207 W. York St. on Telfair Square.

Free Family Days are hosted every month. They are a fun and educational way to engage the entire family. Hundreds of visitors attend each month to enjoy hands-on activities. Artist John Mitchell will offer demonstrations along with other artists who incorporate historical themes into their work.

KodeStars Arcade in Savannah is a fun opportunity to play games created by elementary, middle school and high school kids.

This is a 2 hour event that is free and open to the public on November 15, 2pm-4pm.

Organized as a part of the Geekend conference, the KodeStars Arcade at Coastal Georgia Center 305 Fahm St. will be buzzing with creatives of all ages, eager to try out kids’ creations.

Games will be available for the public to view and play free of charge.

The KodeStars Arcade will highlight the best games submitted to the jury. A variety of prizes will awarded to the winners.

Middle and high school students are encouraged to submit video games for possible inclusion at Geekend. Go to www.kodestars.com for more information, including links to some easy-to-use programs to help build games. The submission deadline is Nov. 10.

“KodeStars encourages kids to use their creativity through original content creation and experimentation with introductory programming tools,” said Yvonne Jouffrault, Creative Coast board member and one of the organizers of KodeStars.

Mamas-to-be, join Savannah Yoga Center in Pooler for a nurturing and supportive pregnancy yoga workshop, 1-3 PM Saturday, November 1st in Pooler.

This two hour workshop, held quarterly at SYC Pooler, is designed for mamas-to-be who are in the second and third trimesters.
