Girls Engineer It! Day is Sat. March 7 2026

Registration is open for the 14th Annual Girls’ Engineer It Day in Savannah.

Students participate in separate tracks (per age group) of three classes lasting one hour each. The event kicks off with an Expo to learn about schools, universities, and Engineering companies in the Coastal Empire. 

Then as the students break off for classes, the adults are invited to stay and learn how to keep the students interested in STEM and how to prepare them for school. See the full agenda here. This event is promoted for females to attend but is open to all students!

This year’s event also lands on International Women’s Day!

When: March 7, 2026, 1-5:30PPM

Where: Woodville-Tompkins Institute, Garden City

Registration: The registration fee increases to $10 and includes all supplies for activities and t-shirt.

SCAD presents 9 to 5 Musical at Lucas Theatre, Savannah

The SCAD School of Film and Acting presents 9 to 5, the live musical based on the seminal hit 1980 movie of the same name with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick.

Performances will take place March 5–7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 8, at 3 p.m.; admission to the Thursday, March 5, performance is free for SCAD Card holders. Tickets are $5 for SCAD Card holders; $15 for students, military, and seniors; and $20 for the general public.

Fit Kids Fest presented by Junior League of Savannah and Savannah Children’s Museum will be on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14th 2026, 1-4pm at Savannah Children’s Museum.

The 14th Annual Fit Kids Fest: Healthy Hearts are Happy Hearts is a free community event.

A free community event, Junior League of Savannah’s Fit Kids Fest focuses on the importance of a healthy body and mind by introducing kids and their parents to fun activities designed for children of all ages.

The goal of Fit Kids Fest Fit Kids Fest is to foster overall wellness among K-12 students and introduce families to healthy lifestyle resources in the community.

Activities include free face painting, a Teddy Bear Clinic, free full access to Savannah Children’s Museum.

The museum has an exploratory maze, nature’s kitchen, art maker space, puppet theater, slides, a sensory garden, a healthy scavenger hunt and more. 

Bring in your favorite Teddy Bear (or stuffed animal) to Fit Kids Fest for a check-up! Special thanks to our community partner, Mercer University School of Medicine. Volunteers with Mercer University School of Medicine will check Teddy’s symptoms, boo-boos, and help kids learn what doctors and nurses do to keep us healthy and strong.

The 2026 Fit Kids Fest Event will be Saturday, February 14, 1-4 p.m. at Savannah Children’s Museum at 655 Louisville Rd, Savannah, GA 31401.
