Toddler Tuesdays @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Toddler Tuesday is an Oatland Wildlife Center program for 1-4 year old children and their caregivers that focuses on one of our animals, or a relevant nature theme. The program will meet at the picnic pavilion​ and will include singing, finger play, a story, and a possible encounter with one of ​our furry, feathered or scaly​ residents.

Occasionally the program ventures to an exhibit, so dress appropriately and bring your stroller and walking shoes. Toddler Tuesday is weather dependent and in case of extreme weather and a cancellation is called for,​ attendees will be emailed at the address you registered your child with.

Sessions are offered twice on Tuesdays from 10-10:30AM & 11-11:30AM.

If you don’t see a new theme, don’t worry, the program runs all year except one week during 4th of July and over the winter holidays.

Showcasing installations, work in progress, and hands-on demonstrations, this is your chance to delve into the art of 3D design.

Junior Ranger Camps 2025 for ages 6-12 @ Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah

Pre-registration opens Jan. 30 2025 for a favorite local summer day camp: Junior Ranger Camps @ Skidaway Island State Park in Savannah.

Children ages 6-12 are invited to join park rangers for a fun week focused on natural and cultural heritage of Georgia.

Led by experienced park rangers, your child will have the opportunity to go on nature hikes, learn about conservation efforts, and participate in hands-on activities, crafts, and games that teach them the importance of protecting our natural resources…all while making new friends and having FUN!

Seven weeks of one-week Junior Ranger camps will be offered for Summer 2025 starting the week of June 2 2025.

What role do young people play in conserving local wildlife populations and natural habitats? Find out during this week of fun, educational activities! Junior Rangers will have the opportunity to learn about Wild Georgia: A Plan for Tomorrow while hiking, bird-watching, interacting with ambassador animals, and more.

Activities include: observing the natural world, conducting scientific experiments, and engaging in conservation projects on the park.

Perfect for kids who love nature and want to get involved in protecting local wildlife!

Camp Creative

June 16-19 (ages 6-9)

June 23-26  (ages 9-12)

The sky is the limit when you use your imagination! Arts and crafts are just the beginning for campers who will have the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of creative ways. Activities are designed for campers to interact with and be inspired by the nature and history of Skidaway Island, with plenty of time for reflection and self-expression.

Activities include: sketching and drawing, painting, and engaging in collaborative art projects on the park.

Perfect for kids who love to learn and create!

Adventure Quest

July 7-10 (ages 6-9)

July 14-17 (ages 9-12)

Enthusiastic explorers who like to stay physically active will enjoy guided nature hikes, challenging games, races, and more. This camp is designed for building confidence, making friends, and team-building exercises! Opportunities for exploration abound.

Perfect for active kids who like to explore and get their hands dirty!

Cabin Fever Open House @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center, Savannah

Free Fit Kids Fest is 1-4PM Sat. Feb. 15 @ Savannah Children’s Museum

You’re invited to the 13th Annual Junior League of Savannah’s Fit Kids Fest taking place 1-4PM Saturday, February 15th 2025, 1-4pm at the Savannah Children’s Museum.

A free community event, Junior League of Savannah’s Fit Kids Fest focuses on the importance of a healthy body and mind by introducing kids and their parents to fun activities designed for children of all ages.

The goal of Fit Kids Fest Fit Kids Fest is to foster overall wellness among K-12 students and introduce families to healthy lifestyle resources in the community.

Activities include free face painting and complimentary, full access to the Savannah Children’s Museum. The museum has an exploratory maze, nature’s kitchen, art maker space, puppet theater, slides, a sensory garden, scavenger hunt and more.
