Bring a comfy chair or picnic blanket to join us for a fun-filled day of music and family-friendly activities at Daffin Park. SMF Jazz Academy is bringing together talented musicians from the community for a jam session like no other.
Bring your family and friends to enjoy live performances by slam poetry and local jazz bands featuring toe-tapping rhythms and soulful melodies. Get ready to dance, tap along, and let loose!
Fall is officially here, and there is plenty of fun to be had this season!
Here are five reasons why this time of year is a great time to visit Fun Zone.
1. Cooler Weather
Cooler weather is coming, making fall one of the best times to try out some of our attractions. If you’re looking for outdoor activities, try out our Go-Karts, Miniature Golf, and Kiddy Land!
Zip around on one of our four Go-Kart tracks with options ranging from the Kiddy Track to the exhilarating, high-speed Hi-Bank Track. We also have two newly updated Miniature Golf courses for you and your crew. If your little ones are looking to take a break from Go-Karts and Mini-Golf, they can run and play in Kiddy Land with tunnels, slides, and more.
Even with beautiful weather, our indoor Arcade room is still available with thrilling new experiences, including King Kong VR, HYPERpitch Major League Pitching, Minecraft, and Hungry, Hungry Hippos! If you’re looking for more classic games, you’ll find them there too.

A young mummy discovers that when he dares to see things differently, his life changes forever! Author Tony Dye will read his story of surprise and adventure, followed by mummy movement and a colorful art activity with one of Savannah Cultural Arts Center’s teaching artists!
Imagination Mornings are engaging mornings of crafts, stories, and movement that take place inside the Savannah Cultural Arts Center! They are geared toward children up to 7 years old.

Telfair Museums will celebrate the conclusion of the Community in Conversation: Legacy of Slavery in Savannah initiative with a Free Family Day on Sat. Oct. 14 2023 from 10AM to 5PM,
Visitors can enjoy free admission to all three of Telfair Museums’ sites (Jepson Center, Telfair Academy, and the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters) as well as special programs and activities at the Jepson Center.
The festivities will include live local performances, engagement with community partner organizations, and curator-led tours of the art exhibitions Richmond Barthé: Harlem Renaissance Sculptor, Created Beasts: Sculpture by Ulysses Davis, and the Telfair Academy. Art activities for all ages will take place from 1-4pM along with treats provided by Savannah Square Pops.
The day of fun will conclude with a family-friendly puppet parade around Telfair Square.
Despite the fact that mental health disorders are one of the most common diseases among children, the idea of mental health advocacy for our children is still pretty rare.

As with previous years, advanced ticket reservations are required and will be available for two sessions per evening to spread out visitation, reduce gatherings and allow proper parking.
There will be no day of, or onsite sales.
Tickets are non-refundable and will only be valid during the specified time frame and date purchased.
**In the event of a full weather cancellation, a rain date will be offered.**
If you are traveling in multiple vehicles, under one registration, please have your party caravan together prior to entering the car line. There is nowhere to pull over and wait and this will help with keeping the line coming into the Oatland Island for the Halloween Hike moving.
Public school students and their parents are invited to a College Admissions Fair this Saturday Oct. 14 2023 @ Savannah Arts Academy in the school cafeteria, 2-4PM.
Admissions counselors from 14 regional and national programs will be in attendance. Arts oriented students from other local public schools are welcome as well.
This event is free and open to all public school arts-oriented students from Savannah-Chatham public schools as well as nearby public school districts.

Free Halloween games, kids’ karaoke dance party @ The Magical World of Toys, Savannah
Bring your kids to this free Halloween-themed event this Sun. Oct. 15, 11AM-3PM @ The Magical World of Toys, a new toy store in Savannah’s Live Oak neighborhood off Waters Avenue:
Halloween-edition game time, Halloween kids karaoke dance party.
Come in costume. Bring a pumpkin to paint.
Toy store owner Dante Pierson plans to host regular community kids’ events at the store.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone over the age of 6 months to get a yearly flu shot to prevent influenza or experience less severe flu symptoms.

Children and their grown-ups will be immersed in STEAM activities, such as chemistry, engineering, biology, and art, all disguised as magical classes inspired by the beloved book series. Various activities will be led by community partners, including Lowcountry Turners, Callaway Critters, Georgia Southern Center for Wildlife Education, Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital, and Live Oak Public Libraries.

Scribbles’ sunlit studio space gives guests plenty of room for creating themed art and a side table to set up outside refreshments to mark the occasion.

On Saturday, October 7, Plant Riverside District will host the 2023 Savannah Wiener Dog Races, organized by Savannah’s Waterfront.
Registration begins at 9AM with races starting at 11AM in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.
Race heats are open to Dachshunds as well as “Almost Wiener Dogs,” with proceeds benefiting Savannah’s Waterfront.
Apart from the fastest run awards in all categories and weights, there will be exciting contests such as best dressed dog, best-dressed dog owner, and more. Entry cost is $25. The grand prize winner will receive a special trophy as well as a $100 credit for Yappy Hour at Electric Moon.
