The Junior Jazz Foundation would like to announce that they still have space available in all three of their summer jazz programs including the following:
Hilton Head Jazz Clinic (recommended ages 10-14, tuition $229): A 3-hour daily jazz clinic with college jazz camp alumni and upcoming faculty (June 20-24, 1pm-4pm), all-day music trip to Savannah on June 22, and finale performance on June 24. Our seventh annual jazz clinic is a combination of private lessons, small combos, with instruction in theory/improv geared towards beginning students beginning their journey into jazz and improvisation. Only one year of playing experience is required for this clinic. Please note that the registration fee is separate from tuition. This clinic also includes an all-day music trip to Savannah on Wednesday, June 22 with lunch provided. A final clinic performance will be held in the HHCA Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 24th at 5pm. No audition is required. Hilton Head Jazz Guitar Institute (recommended ages 14-18, tuition $229): A 3-hour daily jazz guitar clinic for intermediate to advanced high school guitarists (June 20-24, 1pm-4pm) with jazz camp alumni Dallas McCorkindale, music trip to Savannah, and finale performance on June 24. This new program is offered as a way for guitarists to have a grasp on how to play jazz in a non-competitive setting. At least two to three years of playing experience is a pre-requisite for the jazz guitar institute. This program is a highly recommended for any guitarists who also plan on attending the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. Also included is an all-day music trip to Savannah on Wednesday, June 22nd with lunch provided. Please note that the registration fee is separate from tuition. A final joint performance with the jazz clinic students will be held in the HHCA Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 24th at 5pm. No audition is required.
Hilton Head Jazz Camp (recommended ages 14-20, tuition $449): A full day camp with 18 full-time professional faculty from across the country (July 11-16, 9am-4pm) concluding with a camp recital and finale performance. With a combination of large big bands, small combos, theory, improv, elective courses, masterclasses and performances, this premier jazz camp is geared towards intermediate to advanced middle and high school students. With an additional vocal jazz and strings program, we offer something for every music student! Tuition also includes a daily chef-prepared lunch & all daytime activities, masterclasses, and 2 complimentary tickets to the finale performance on July 16th at 2pm. Students should have had 3+ years of playing experience, but no audition is required for entry into the camp. Placement auditions will be held prior to camp to determine the appropriate ensemble for our students. Overnight accommodations discounts and scholarships are available on a limited basis. On the stage and in the air! The Savannah Cultural Arts Center’s performing art camp for rising 8th-12th graders will take campers to new heights July 5-8th 2022.
Teen actors will spend the week exploring all things theatre, developing skills in improv, script writing, stage production, choreography, and creative movement including an introduction to the aerial arts. The week will end with a mini showcase for friends and family.
This is a 4-day camp following the Fourth of July holiday. $120 ($80 City of Savannah resident rate).
Programming on Saturday will include presentations and activities from The Pin Point Betterment Society, Savannah African Art Museum, Ossabaw Island Foundation, and Pin Point Heritage Museum’s Legacy Education Specialists. Each partner will speak about their connection with the Pin Point community and the Gullah/Geechee culture.
Staff and attendees will celebrate with birthday treats at 1PM.

Here’s a chance for your child to have a Savannah swim team experience in a laid-back summer atmosphere.
The Mayfair Marlins summer swim team in Savannah is open to ages 4-18. No swim team experience necessary. First practice is May 23 2022 @ Chatham County Aquatic Center. Practices eventually move to Mayfair neighborhood pool. Pool membership is NOT required to join the team.
Summer swim teams have meets with other members of the Savannah Coastal Summer League (such as Isle of Hope; Wilmington Park; Savannah Golf Club; Savannah Quarters; Savannah Yacht Club.

Enrichment Saturday this Sat. May 14, 9:30-10:30AM @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center in Savannah allows the public to see some of the special work that often goes on behind-the-scenes at Oatland.
This is an opportunity to witness how the Animal Care Staff provides special treats and activities to help hone the animals’ natural behaviors. Adults and children will participate in creating enrichment material for Oatland’s barnyard residents and will watch the cow, donkey, and pig experience their special creations.
Tickets are limited to 10 people per session
