Did You Know? Cows have been shown to prefer smells like lavender, and while they prefer self grooming brushes over a simply putting lavender on a fence post, they do show interest in that scent and this can be used to encourage the use of brushes.
Enrichment Saturday this Sat. May 14, 9:30-10:30AM @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center in Savannah allows the public to see some of the special work that often goes on behind-the-scenes at Oatland.
This is an opportunity to witness how the Animal Care Staff provides special treats and activities to help hone the animals’ natural behaviors. Adults and children will participate in creating enrichment material for Oatland’s barnyard residents and will watch the cow, donkey, and pig experience their special creations.
- Tickets are limited to 10 people per session
- $20.00 per person, for all ages. All attendees must have a ticket. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Purchase tickets online here.
- All participants must be at least 4 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a paid adult.
- Your ticket price includes admission to Oatland for the day, so feel free to stay and see the other animals after your program.
