Participate in the Andy Warhol Factory experience at the Jepson Center. A significant element of Andy Warhol’s silkscreens was his use of the same image over and over again. Guests can experiment with Andy Warhol’s exploration of pop culture, experience screenprinting, and take home their own serial creation.

Telfair encourages guests to drop in at the studio between 1-4 pm to work with assistants to screenprint Andy Warhol Flowers. All ages are welcome. Regular admission applies.

You’re invited to take part in Stroller Strong Mom’s of Savannah’s Get Fit Challenge.

The Get Fit Challenge is a 10 week program that starts the week of January 19th and ends the week of March 30th.

It will include both a fitness assessment (during class time) and body composition assessment (before or after class) at the start and end of the program. The fitness assessment will include five different exercises that will be counted/timed. The body composition assessment will use a handheld bodyfat monitor.
You will receive points in the following ways:
-Class attendance
-Improvement in fitness assessment
-Improvement in body composition assessment
-How well you follow your nutrition goal

The Get Fit Challenge will happen during Stroller Strong Moms’ regular class days and times. The body composition testing will occur before or after class on those days.

Points will be tallied throughout the program and participants with the most points at the end of the 10 weeks will receive gift card prizes.  Participants will be divided into two groups based on the initial assessment results. This will make it fair across the board and encourage everyone to compete against others who are at their same fitness level.
You will take a before/after picture at class at the start and end of the program so you can see how much the hard work payed off!

Ruth Murphy has just moved down to Savannah from Massachusetts, where she taught private and small group lessons for 13 years, and performed in bands in various communities in the area. Georgia History Festival’s FREE Georgia Day Parade

As part of the annual commemoration of the founding of the Georgia colony of February 12, 1733 by James Edward Oglethorpe, a tradition dating back to the earliest years of the colony’s founding, we invite you to join us as students, musicians, local dignitaries, and costumed historical figures march through Savannah’s historic squares during this beloved annual event. The 2015 Georgia Day Parade will be held on February 18th. Free and open to the public.

Kindermusik with 88 Keys Piano in Savannah announces its December play dates:

December’s musical monthly play date will be offered twice this month:
Tuesday, December 16 at 10am and Saturday, December 20 at 10am. Play dates are open to children 0-7 years.

This month’s theme is “This is My Dance”. Cost is $15 (siblings are only $5.00).
Each participant will receive an instrument/prop, 10 Kindermusik songs and a bonus gift at the end of class.
Also, in December, if you attend the first playdate, admission to the second play date is free (materials given out once)!!!

Join Snow White for Enchant My Party’s FIRST EVER enchanted baking event at Cake It Away Bakery on Whitemarsh Island on Sat. December 20 2014.

Enjoy storytelling, sing-a-long, games, cupcake decorating and a special gift for each child from Snow White.

For children 3 & older
Tickets are $18 per child

Session 1: 10am-11am
Session 2: Noon-1pm
Session 3: 2pm-3pm

Tune up Baby’s listening ears, because we’re off to the farm. With a heehaw here, and a cock a doodle there, this unit is packed with fun, animal-themed activities that emphasize focus, listening discrimination, and cognition.

For toddlers 2’s and 3’s: Mondays at 10:15AM for “Silly All Over!”.
While enjoying giggles, tickles, songs and games, your toddlers will also experience developmentally appropriate activities such as stop and go, up and down, use their fine motor skills, and of course, enjoy the joy and laughter of music.

The preschool – located on Victory Drive in the Savannah’s Ardsley Park –  serves 15 mths to 4-year-old children and is in session from 9AM to noon Monday through Friday. First Christian Church members receive a 25% discount on tuition.

First Christian Preschool provides an environment that is warm and welcoming so that your child will feel safe and comfortable. Classrooms are bright and inviting so your child will be excited about learning and will be prepared for kindergarten. Most of all, your child will have a lot of fun and be involved in meaningful play. Play is a child’s “work” and it is through play that a child learns to be social, to solve problems, to be independent and to be creative.

The preschool employs the Unit Approach Curriculum. It is designed to meet appropriate skill levels for each age group.

The school offers a Spanish program as part of the curriculum for the 3 and 4-year-olds . Music is incorporated into daily activities in the classrooms and all classes come together Friday mornings for music.

Children participate in two school-wide programs, one at Christmas and an end-of-the-year program. A Thanksgiving feast, carpool and lunch bunch, and early birds are other activities that are a part of the preschool program.
