Once a month, our youngest patrons are invited to the Jepson Center in Savannah for story time, a special tour, and an art activity. Take time to unleash your creativity, join us in our studios every Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 2pm for art-making projects for all ages! Work at your own pace and comfort level through an array of creative media such as watercolors, collage, calligraphy, origami, coloring books, and much more. Each month features a special project designed to connect with an exhibition at the museum. A studio assistant is always on hand to answer questions and assist guests. Drop-In Studio is perfect for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

It’s time for Tybee Island Marine Science Center’s resident Marine Debris Ambassador to swim free! Please join TIMSC we release Ossie the Loggerhead Sea Turtle into the wild blue yonder at 10AM Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026.
Found as a tiny straggler hatchling on Ossabaw Island in 2023, Ossie has grown strong and educated visitors at the science center for the last three years. Now weighing almost 36 pounds, this healthy juvenile is ready to thrive in their natural environment.
But gone doesn’t mean forgotten: Ossie will be equipped with a satellite tracker, thanks to activist Liddy Clever and her nonprofit organization, Sea Life with Liddy. Weekly whereabouts will be posted on TIMSC’s social media and website.
The event will take place on the beach in front of the Center Street crossover in the North Beach parking lot.
Early arrival recommended, signs encouraged!
Note: The science center will open late that day at 11am.
