In partnership with the Atlanta Falcons,the foundation provides funding to help schools launch new girls flag football programs or strengthen existing ones.
Since 2022, St. Andrew’s has fielded a girls flag football team, and the program continues to grow in both skill and participation. The grant funds will be used to purchase new equipment to enhance training, support player development, and further elevate the team’s performance.
The team is led by St. Andrew’s faculty members David Nash and Kristin Peney, who have developed a five-year plan focused on building the program into one of the most competitive in the region.
“This group of girls playing flag football is incredible,” said Coach Nash. “Their empathy, positive attitude, and leadership have transformed the team from one of the youngest and most inexperienced in the league into a highly competitive program.”
Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States and will be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics. “We are proud to support opportunities that empower our students to grow as athletes and leaders,” said Dr. Kelley Waldron, Head of School. “This grant strengthens our athletics program and reinforces our commitment to providing meaningful, confidence-building experiences for our students.”

At the SCAD Sand Arts Festival 2026 on Tybee Island, SCAD students & alumni compete to create sand sculptures. The sculptures are made in the sand on the beach by Tybee Island’s South Beach Pier and Pavillion off Tybrisa St.

Every day is a new creative exploration for seasoned preteen artists and newcomers. As naturally creative individuals, students will be given a voice in their growth while learning traditional drawing and painting skills. Join us at the Jepson Center to develop your young person’s photography skills. We believe that all young people are artists. With that in mind, we will approach photography as professionals do, studying the elements of art. The camp will meet outside as much as possible as we explore our environment in Telfair Square and other nearby locations. Location details will be emailed to registrants a week before the first class. We will use DSLR digital cameras and learn about exposure and a few historical methods involving film. Photography is fun and accessible to everyone.

This program is perfect for young art lovers and curious minds, combining the joy of storytelling with the wonder of art. Each week, our skilled storytellers will bring captivating tales to life, encouraging creativity and imagination in a vibrant, art-filled setting.
Work at your own pace and comfort level through an array of creative mediums such as watercolors, collage, calligraphy, origami, coloring books & more. Each month features a special project designed to connect with an exhibition at the museum. A studio assistant is always on hand to answer questions and assist guests. Drop-In Studio is perfect for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
