In partnership with the Atlanta Falcons,the foundation provides funding to help schools launch new girls flag football programs or strengthen existing ones.
Since 2022, St. Andrew’s has fielded a girls flag football team, and the program continues to grow in both skill and participation. The grant funds will be used to purchase new equipment to enhance training, support player development, and further elevate the team’s performance.
The team is led by St. Andrew’s faculty members David Nash and Kristin Peney, who have developed a five-year plan focused on building the program into one of the most competitive in the region.
“This group of girls playing flag football is incredible,” said Coach Nash. “Their empathy, positive attitude, and leadership have transformed the team from one of the youngest and most inexperienced in the league into a highly competitive program.”
Girls flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States and will be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics. “We are proud to support opportunities that empower our students to grow as athletes and leaders,” said Dr. Kelley Waldron, Head of School. “This grant strengthens our athletics program and reinforces our commitment to providing meaningful, confidence-building experiences for our students.”

Registration opens Monday, February 9. Individual registration is available online here or in person. Payments must be made in person at the Allen E. Paulson Softball Complex (7171 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA 31406) on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10:00am – 6:00pm using cash, check, or money order.
Resident fee: $30
Non-resident fee: $50
Registration closes: Friday, March 6
Based off of previous feedback, games will begin in May this season to help minimize the likelihood of heat advisories this year.

3rd – 5th grade
6th – 8th grade

Intro to Youth Sports program @ Savannah JEA is the perfect starting point for your child’s athletic journey—no pressure, only pure fun.
Designed for ages 3 to 6, this flexible four-week program introduces children to a variety of team sports in a supportive, playful environment. Each week highlights a different sport—kickball, soccer, flag football, and pickleball—giving kids the chance to move, laugh, and learn the basics through games and teamwork.
Families can register for individual weeks or sign up for the full four-week series. Whether they want to try one sport or experience them all, the program is designed to fit your child’s interests and your schedule.

The PGA Junior League is for boys and girls ages 10 -13 years old that are new or experienced in golf. The class will have a weekly class and a Sunday match… guaranteed with set start and end times.
All classes and matches will be indoors at the Savannah Indoor Golf Club with its Trackman 4 launch monitors.

Tormenta FC welcomes all players between the ages of 4-14 to join in this season across the various practice locations: Savannah, Skidaway Island, Wilmington Island, Bluffton.
You can register a full team of players or as an individual. Tormenta welcomes all players of all skill levels to participate in this soccer program! The Recreation program will run for 8 weeks. Each team will practice once a week, and games are scheduled on Saturdays throughout the season!
