We know y’all love the renovated, self-activated Hull Park splash pad in Savannah’s Ardsley Park that we featured here.
But if you want a place for the kids to cool off in downtown Savannah, head to the splash pad at Plant Riverside District. It’s located along the River Walk, closer to the River Street end, near the door up to Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Bar.
This splash pad has statues & benches, views of the Savannah bridge and Savannah River & plenty of amenities nearby.
Before the kids get soaked, be sure to duck into the Power Plant hotel (Generator Hall this map.), to visit or re-visit the 135-foot long, life-size, chrome-dipped dinosaur on the ceiling. This is the only existing replica of the largest dinosaur ever discovered on the planet, a Amphicoelias fragillimus dinosaur recreation that consists of 230 bones.
Public parking near District Live. Public restrooms along the River Walk. See the map here.

A self-activating button is just one of the improvements at Hull Park’s renovated splash pad @ 55th and Atlantic streets in Savannah.
The Hull Park splash pad renovation is part of the City of Savannah’s Recreation ReiMagined initiative geared towards raising the quality of recreational facilities while providing increased access to residents.
Before the renovation, the splash pad water was only on during certain set times and without any of the colorful aquatic devices. Now users can self-activate the water from 8AM-8PM Monday-Friday and 9AM-9PM Saturday & Sunday from April to October
Hull Park also includes a playground, athletic field, and picnic area.
New Savannah playground @ Ambuc Park next to Chatham County Aquatic Center
There’s a new fully accessible playground to check out: Ambuc Park next to Chatham County Aquatic Center and Ambuc Park baseball/softball fields on Sallie Mood Drive in Savannah.

Ambucs donated $175,000 towards this new area from funds they’ve raised over the past three and a half years.

The beloved Savannah tug boat children’s play area is back on Savannah’s River Street, refurbished and modernized , replacing the original wooden 1977 tugboat, designed by Riverfront Urban Renewal Project architect Eric Meyerhoff.
The original tugboat, nicknamed “Tinkerbell,” had become dilapidated over the years and had been repaired and rebuilt multiple times until it was removed several years ago for safety reasons.
The donation of the new ADA accessible tugboat play area is from Margot Meyerhoff, daughter Eric Meyerhoff. Stephen Nottingham, from Frendesign, modernized the design.
