Inclement weather put a damper on Richmond Hill’s Winter Wonderland Festival earlier this month. While organizers could not reschedule all of the activities originally planned, they still want to provide some fun during the first week of Christmas vacation.
Come on out to the night market from 4:30-7:30PM Sat. Dec. 16 2023. There will be around 50 vendors, plus Santa!, photo booth, live music and dog rescue.
Start your day with art at this monthly parent & child program @ Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center in Savannah.
Once a month, Telfair Museums’ youngest patrons are invited to the Jepson Center for Art Start, which includes story time, a special tour, and an art activity.
Strollers, crying babies, toddlers, and older siblings are all welcome here.

Join the SCAD Bee Sharps, the university’s elite performance ensemble, for an evening of carols and good cheer at the all-new Holiday Spectacular concert. The Bee Sharps will be joined by special guest stars and alumni, including American Idol winner Candice Glover (B.F.A., dramatic writing, 2022), as SCAD celebrates the holiday season. Guests will step into a winter wonderland to enjoy old and new holiday favorites at this festive new tradition directed by Tony Award-nominated producer, actor, and SCAD artistic director of executive ensembles Mike Evariste.
Tickets for the concert are $15 for students, seniors, and military; and $25 for the general public.
Did you know your child can receive a letter from the North Pole?
Through the USPS’s Letters From Santa program, a letter written by your child can be mailed to Santa and they will receive a return letter with a real postmark from the North Pole! You can learn more about this program on the USPS website

Plant Riverside District will host a free community event honoring Kwanzaa on Tues. Dec. 26 2023 with master storyteller Lillian Grant-Baptiste. This celebration is free and open to the public and will take place at Plant Riverside District, which is on Savannah’s historic riverfront at 400 W. River St.
On Tues. Dec. 26, the first day of Kwanzaa, Plant Riverside District invites all to join in a community event at 5:30PM at Beethoven’s Terrace. This free evening Kwanzaa program will feature Lillian Grant-Baptiste, an informed cultural artist, motivational speaker and master storyteller who will share stories about Kwanzaa, focusing upon the holiday’s rich history and the significance of its seven core principles, highlighting the first day core principle of Unity.
Following this event, attendees will have an opportunity to visit Baobab Lounge, where they can meet Grant-Baptiste. There will be a selection of specialty drinks and bites from a Kwanzaa-inspired menu.
This celebratory menu will be available at Baobab Lounge from Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Sunday, Dec. 31 during the seven days of Kwanzaa. Guest will enjoy the opportunity to visit a traditional altar featuring the Kinara candleholder, plus white flowers will be available for guests to float down the Savannah River in honor of their ancestors.
On Friday, Dec. 29, Plant Riverside District will highlight local Black entrepreneurs to celebrate the principle of Ujamaa. Guests who purchase items from Hall of Sneakz and Rhoot Man Beverage Company at the Savannah Christmas Market will receive a special 10% discount at Baobab Lounge.

Savannah Santa Train 2023 – one of the largest annual holiday family events in the Lowcountry – is Sat. Dec. 9 2023 @ Georgia State Railroad Museum & Savannah Children’s Museum, 655 Louisville Rd., Savannah.
Festive activities and entertainment include a holiday-themed diesel locomotive train ride experience, Tin Soldier training, crafts and historic children’s games, live performances, a visit from Santa Claus & more.
Savannah Santa Train is hosted each year by Georgia State Railroad Museum and Savannah Children’s Museum. Tickets are $20 per person for all guests age eighteen months and up and online pre-registration is required here.
Train rides are available every fifteen minutes, so please select a time to reserve your seat.
