The public is invited to the Kicklighter Academy annual Fall Fun Fair Saturday, October 29 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Featuring fun and games for kids of all ages. Gnate the Sand Gnat will be here at 11 am! Come and enjoy bounce houses, fire trucks, police cars, and carnival booths. Wear your costume and participate in the parade of costumes! Sign up for fun games including the three-legged race! Tickets will be available at the Fall Fair or you can purchase wristband for unlimited all day fun, just $8! Family discount! Pick up a tasty treat at the fall themed bake sale or lunch on hamburgers and hotdogs! Thrift sale – with items ranging from furniture, clothing, baby items, electronics and more – will be open at 8 a.m. The event will be held on the corner of Eisenhower and Seawright Dr., near the KicklighterAcademy. The Kicklighter Resource Center has been serving our community’s children and adults with autism, intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities for over 50 years. All of their programs and services are focused on improving the quality of life of the unique people we serve.

The Sandbox, An Interactive Children’s Museum, is hosting Pajama Night 5:30 – 7 PM Tues. Oct. 18.
Come in your pajamas to listen to Scott Strawn from the Hilton Head Library read a series of bedtime books. This month’s theme is Halloween. Then make a craft project that is related to one of the stories. Following the reading and craft project, families can stay and play at the museum and enjoy lemonade and cookies. Cost is a discounted museum admission of $5 for children, $2.50 for siblings, and adults are free.
The Pajama Night programs will be held the third Tuesday of each month. Click here for more details on this program and other activities provided by the museum.

We love this! A debate on issues that matter to moms
The Junior League of Savannah invites you to attend a debate on women and children’s issues between Savannah’s mayoral candidates: Floyd Adams, Ellis Cook, James Dewberry, Jeff Felser, Edna Jackson, and Regina Thomas. The debate will be on Tues. Oct. 18 at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm Street. Doors open at 5:30pm.
This event is sponsored by the Chatham-Savannah Youth Futures Authority, Healthy Savannah, The Junior League of Savannah, Savannah-Chatham Family Violence Council, and Voices for Georgia’s Children. The debate, moderated by Mary Willoughby, will feature candidate discussion from 6-7:30 PM of pre-submitted questions, followed by individual questions from the floor. At 7:30 candidates will be available for press interviews and meet and greet with attendees.
