Savannah Santa Train, one of the largest annual holiday family events in the Lowcountry, returns on Sat. Dec. 10, 2022, 9AM-5PM @ Georgia State Railroad Museum, 655 Louisville Rd., Savannah.

Festive activities and entertainment include a holiday-themed diesel locomotive train ride experience, Tin Soldier training, crafts and historic children’s games. Enjoy a performance by the Gretchen Greene School of Dance, see and purchase hand-crafted artisan spinning tops made in front of you by the Lowcountry Turners, and celebrate the season with festive holiday dancing with Minick Family Music, and share your Christmas wishes during a visit with Santa Claus.

Savannah-Chatham Public School’s Embrace Summer Learning Registration Deadline Approaching

Attention Savannah-Chatham public school families: The SCCPSS Embrace Summer Learning experience will begin June 1- and end June 29, 2022 (Holiday June 20th).

The Elementary/K-8 and Middle school start time and end time are 8AM and 3:30PM. High School start time begins at 7:30AM and ends at 1:30PM. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided daily. Summer Learning camps and CTAE camps will rotate between the morning and afternoon sessions.

Registration information for Elementary/K-8 students was emailed to public school families. Each child in the household should have received a separate email. The registration link in the individual emails can only work for the intended student. If you did not receive a link or the link is not working, please contact your child’s school.

Here’s a new, socially-distanced way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah in 2021: a boat parade from Hogan’s Marina through Thunderbolt then passing a socially distanced, limited capacity Irish-themed, family-friendly watch party at the Savannah Convention Center on Wed. March 17 2021.

PARADE ROUTE
The Parade will assemble from Turners Creek, through Thunderbolt, around Elba Island and proceed to the Savannah Convention Center. The goal is to pass the Savannah Convention Center 1-3PM.

FREE college football tickets: Georgia State is offering Dorian evacuees free tickets to this Saturday Sept. 7’s football home opener against Furman @ 7PM inside Georgia State Stadium. Free tickets are available to residents of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina who have been displaced due to mandatory evacuations in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian. Residents who show a valid driver’s license from the specific coastal zip codes that are under a mandatory evacuation will be eligible to take advantage of this offer. Up to four (4) complimentary tickets can be claimed at the Georgia State Stadium Office windows – while supplies last – beginning at 9AM Thurs. Sept. 5 through kickoff on Sat. Sept. 7. Sept. 5 & Fri. Sept. 6. (Museum is closed Wednesday) The attraction hopes to provide those impacted by the storm with an educational escape where children and families can experience the power of play. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in the highly-interactive exhibit based on Disney Junior’s Peabody Award-winning television series, “Doc McStuffins.” This offer is valid for walk-up guests only with proper identification from an evacuated area.
