On any big holiday with parties and events, there are always elevated risks to be aware of.”

Annual wellness exams are critical in maintaining the health and happiness of your child, and knocking these out at the beginning of the summer versus at the end avoids many potential problems.
“Our offices become so hectic at the end of the summer when school is about to begin again. Because of this we always encourage parents to bring their kids in at the beginning of the summer to avoid the back-to-school rush,” SouthCoast Health pediatrician Dr. David Mozer said. “This also ensures the child and parent have more quality time with their pediatrician and gives parents peace of mind through summer months usually filled with lots of travel.”

Fourth of July Parade in Savannah’s Ardsley Park neighborhood
Hosted by the Midtown Savannah Parents Group and their local volunteers and sponsors, this is THE community event you don’t want to miss: a Fourth of July Parade & festivities, 10AM-1PM July 4 2024.
Show off your patriotic spirit with costumes and decorations to compete for the titles of Patriotic Pet, Best Bike, Best Wagon, and Best Group Costume! There will be food trucks, but don’t forget to bring your own picnic for after the parade.
FREE registration kicks off at 9:45AM under the pavilion. Line up starting at 10:15AM and the parade kicks off at 10:30AM sharp – but remember, NO MOTOR VEHICLES ALLOWED!
Grab your red, white, and blue and let’s celebrate like it’s 1776.
We know y’all love the renovated, self-activated Hull Park splash pad in Savannah’s Ardsley Park that we featured here.
But if you want a place for the kids to cool off in downtown Savannah, head to the splash pad at Plant Riverside District. It’s located along the River Walk, closer to the River Street end, near the door up to Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Bar.
This splash pad has statues & benches, views of the Savannah bridge and Savannah River & plenty of amenities nearby.
Before the kids get soaked, be sure to duck into the Power Plant hotel (Generator Hall this map.), to visit or re-visit the 135-foot long, life-size, chrome-dipped dinosaur on the ceiling. This is the only existing replica of the largest dinosaur ever discovered on the planet, a Amphicoelias fragillimus dinosaur recreation that consists of 230 bones.
Public parking near District Live. Public restrooms along the River Walk. See the map here.
