Public skating has returned to the Savannah Civic Center’s MLK Arena – courtesy of Ghost Pirates Ice and the City of Savannah.

Savannah public ice-skating sessions kicked off earlier this month and will continue into December 2023 on weekdays and weekends.

The Town of Thunderbolt will host this free community event – Christmas on the Bluff – on Sat. Dec. 9 2023, 4-7PM.

Festivities will begin at 4 pm and include: photos with Santa, live entertainment, cookie decorating, ornament decorating, vendor village, food trucks, culminating with the lighting of the Town’s Christmas Tree.

Vendors, food trucks and activities will be set up at 3107 River Drive, next to River Drive CrossFit.

Christmas on the Bluff is a free community event and all are welcome to join!

No tickets are required to attend the event.

Step back in time at this family-friendly holiday festival “Days of Christmas Past” supporting Friends of Oatland, Sun. Dec. 10, 10AM-2PM.

Savannah’s Lighted Christmas Parade 2023 is Sat. Dec. 9

Lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Savannah will be 5:30-7PM Sat. Dec. 9.

The parade starts @ Plant Riverside District on the west end of River Street, goes down to the east end, then winds its way downtown for the entire community to enjoy.

The parade features community floats, cars, trolleys, walking groups.

Tybee Ballet Theatre presents The Land of the Sweets @ Savannah Cultural Arts Center’s Ben Tucker Theater in November and @ Tybee Post Theater in December.

Holiday Tree Lighting Nov. 30 2023, 5:30PM @ Telfair Academy, Savannah

Kick off the holiday season with Telfair’s annual tree lighting celebration sparking joy and bringing the community under one roof.

A hot cocoa bar, delicious cookies, and children’s art activities will take place in the Telfair Academy.

Be sure to pick up holiday gifts in the museum shop—especially brilliantly colored Delftware ornaments representing Telfair’s three sites are waiting to go to good homes.

Make plans to check out the 2023 Hilton Head Island Lantern Parade on Sat. Nov. 18, 2023.

This free event starts @ sunset about 5:45PM and runs from Alder Lane-South Forest Beach to Lowcountry Celebration Park on Hilton Head Is.

The only requirement to participate is having a lantern. Lineup for the parade begins at 5PM at the Alder Lane Beach Access. The parade starts 5:45 PM, right after sunset, and travesl north along South Forest Beach up to Coligny Beach Park.

Spectators can watch along the beach anywhere between Alder Lane and Coligny Beach Park.

First Presbyterian Church Announces 14^th Annual ‘A Gracious Christmas’ Event

First Presbyterian Church will host its 14^th Annual A Gracious Christmas fundraiser event on Thurs. Dec. 7, 2023 from 8:30AM-1PM @ First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave., Savannah, GA 31405.

Each year, the committee selects a local nonprofit as the event beneficiary. This year’s deserving recipient is Tharros Place, an organization dedicated to providing sanctuary to the victims of human trafficking. 

As in year’s past, the event will feature a variety of speakers:

·         Hayley Suthers, Proprietor of The Cottage Shop, Perfectly Personalized Christmas: How to add personal touches to your Christmas decor

·         Jimin Chung Bruen, Private Chef, Giving yourself grace in the kitchen: How to pivot when things don’t go the way you expected.

·         Lindsay Thomas, Creator and Owner of Garland Bags, Just Go For It!  The value of taking action on an idea.
