Spanish tall ship El Galeon San Pelayo will be @ Savannah River Street, Sept. 23-Oct. 4

El Galeon Spanish tall ship visits Savannah 2015The replica of the 16th century Spanish galleon, now renamed the Galeon San Pelayo, will visit Savannah again this year and open her decks to visitors.

These ships were the primary merchant vessels around the world for 300 years, and manned by brave sailors, adventurers and merchants they were able to connect the continents creating the first global trading routes in history. They were an essential tool for the colonization of the New World and what maintained the economy of the Spanish Empire.

This 170ft long, 500 tones vessel will be docked at Rousakis Riverfront Plaza, across from 115 East River Street and will be open for visitors from September 23 2015 to October 4 2015 with the following opening hours:

September 23rd – October 1st from 10am to 6pm; the ship will be featured on Savannah’s 32nd Annual Oktoberfest from October 2nd to October 4th when it will be open from 10am to 10pm

Ticket prices: $10 Adults; $5 Children (5-12 years old); Free for ages 5 & younger. Tickets can be purchased at the pier and through www.elgaleonshop.org.
