Starting in early June and running until August, several local movie theater complexes in Savannah & Pooler show $1 kids movies (and one Savannah theatre shows $4 ones) on designated weekday mornings.

Special Free Summer Performances for Kids at Live Oak Public Libraries
From June-August: Free children’s library special performances (storytellers, musicians, animal acts, artists and more) will take place at various Live Oak Public library branches in Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

FREE FAMILY DAYS at TELFAIR MUSEUMS
Telfair Museums has a new FREE Family Days program, an opportunity for adults and children of all ages to enjoy free monthly hands-on art projects, story time, gallery exploration activities and more
The free events are held one Saturday each month from 1-4 p.m. at Jepson Center, located at 207 W. York St., and include:
July 13 | Making Connections
Discover the Telfair’s connections to New York and learn how to use personal elements to make connections to the world at large.
August 17 | Near East Family Day
Middle Eastern music concert and workshop.

FREE ADMISSION TO TELFAIR MUSEUMS FOR MILITARY FAMILIES
Telfair Museums will honor active military service members & their families by offering free admission to any of the Telfair Museums from Memorial Day to Labor Day 2013.
Free admission for military families will be offered through Mon. Sept. 2, 2013 during regular museum hours the following Telfair Museums:

Free ice cream for reciting the Pledge of Allegiance on Mondays, 4-7 PM during July @ Leopold’s Ice Cream. Details here.
Part of Leopold’s I Pledge for Ice Cream Project
From 4-7 PM on Mondays in July 2013, children 12 & younger who can recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory will be rewarded with a free child’s scoop of ice cream at Leopold’s Ice Cream, 212 E. Broughton St. Savannah, 31401.

FREE KIDS’ LUNCHES
White Bluff UMC’s children’s ministry offers a kids’ eat free lunch during summer Monday-Friday, sponsored by Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, noon – 1:30 PM @ White Bluff United Methodist Church, 11911 White Bluff Road, 31419.
The lunches are open to the public. (You do not have to be a church member to attend).

Free “Night Skies – Telescopes at the Tybee Pier and Pavilion” hosted by the Oglethorpe Astronomical Association. View the night sky through high-powered telescopes, weather permitting.

U-pick blackberry picking at Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens in Savannah. Not free, but for $3 per pound, it’s a fun time.

Free Admission to Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, Columbia, S.C.
Toucan Tuesdays: Bring two cans, get into the Riverbanks Zoo for the price of one during summer. The cans of non-perishable food are donated to Harvest Hope Food Bank. Details here.

Free Spray Pools at various Savannah parks including Hull and Forsyth parks.
Spray Pools offer an opportunity to enjoy a cool water experience at park under adult supervision. Savannah Spray pool locations include Avondale, Hull Park, Forrest Hills, Paulsen, Savannah Gardens, 38th Street Park and Victory Heights Parks. Hours: June 17- August 2, 2013 Monday – Friday 10 AM – 3 PM.

FREE lunches 
Free lunches are served during summer by the City at some parks including Hull Park & Forsyth Park 6/17 to 8/2 every day during the summer (11:45-12:45 @ Hull Park @ Atlantic & 55th Sts & 10:30-11:45 AM @ Forsyth Park @ Drayton & Huntington) to any child who wants one. FREE live entertainment & Tuesday night fireworks @ HarbourFest at Shelter Cove Harbour, Hilton Head Is.
Family entertainer, Shannon Tanner, returns to Shelter Cove to kick off his 25th season on Hilton Head Island. Shannon plays Friday-Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, two shows at 6:30 and 8:00 pm. Memorial Day – Labor Day, Shannon plays Monday – Thursday with two shows at 6:30 and 8:00 pm. Shannon Tanner and the Oyster Reefers will play a Caribbean Music Concert Friday nights starting June 21 from 7:00-9:00 pm as part of the new Friday night show, Parrot Palooza.
This year, Cappy the Clown will be at Shelter Cove Harbour Memorial Day through Labor Day to delight audiences with fun entertainment and activities. Cappy will be at Shelter Cove Monday – Friday from 6:00-9:00 pm.
Fireworks serve as the centerpiece for HarbourFest. This year, Firework shows will be held on the following dates at dusk:

FREE summer outdoor children’s concerts by kids’ musician Gregg Russell, Harbour Town, Hilton Head Is.

Gregg Russell Concerts under the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town, Every night except Saturdays, 8-9:30 p.m. Family-oriented singer/storyteller performs sing-a-longs, ballads and silly songs with audience participation. Kids often make & bring “pick-me-to sing-with-you” signs to hold up for Gregg to see. Complimentary. FREE animal farm at Lawton Stables, Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head. Is. S.C. (open everyday except Christmas)
Lawton’s free animal farm includes goats, sheep, pot-bellied pigs, ponies, rabbits, a deer named Callie and a Clydesdale named Harley (who loves visitors bearing carrots and apples).
