Occasionally the program ventures to an exhibit, so dress appropriately and bring your stroller and walking shoes. Toddler Tuesday is weather dependent and in case of extreme weather and a cancellation is required,​ attendees will be emailed at the address you registered with which you registered.

​Oatland Island​ Wildlife Center Summer Camps are week-long day camps available to rising Kindergarteners through rising 8th graders. Campers will discover the world of science through hands-on activities, creative crafts and wildlife investigations. ​Adult instructors, most of whom are certified teachers, bring a wide range of experience and talent to enhance these camp adventures.​

​ When: June & July 2024

Weekly camps run Monday – Friday, 9AM-3PM.

Polar Express Party 2023 @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center, Savannah

The Dec. 19 2023 Polar Express Party @ Oatland Island Wildife Center in Savannah is a special Toddler Tuesday program and the last Toddler Tuesday program of 2023.

It will take place inside Oatland’s conference room and will include a typical Toddler Tuesday program about polar animals; followed by train play (large and small train sets), a holiday craft, hot chocolate and cookie snack, and winter snow play. 

This program is a special fundraiser for Oatland.  Reservation is required due to limited space inside.   Reserve your spots online here.

Oatland’s Polar Express Party runs about 45 minutes and will be offered 3 times on Dec. 19, so all who want to attend have a chance to come.   

After Dec. 19, there will be a short break in Toddler Tuesday programs for the holidays, and will reconvene on Jan. 2, 2024.​

Harvest Festival & Cane Grinding Festival 2023 @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center, Savannah, Nov. 11

Come and celebrate fall and learn about southern heritage during Oatland Island Wildlife Center’s annual Harvest Festival and Sugar Cane Grinding.

This Savannah fall festival will feature Oatland’s 1800’s cabins, old-time demonstrations, games, music, open fire cooking, crafts, and more. Animal education and interaction table will be open from 10-11AM and 2-3PM.

Games, crafts, snack bar, and hay rides will require tickets (available for purchase on site on festival day). Sugar cane syrup will also be available for purchase.

A favorite annual event in Savannah: Oatland Island Wildlife Center’s Halloween Hike will be Oct 13 & 14 2023.

Make plans to take your kids to this annual not so scary Halloween Hike through the trails at Oatland Island.  Ticket Sales Open 9/24 Online Here.

As with previous years, advanced ticket reservations are required and will be available for two sessions per evening to spread out visitation, reduce gatherings and allow proper parking. 

There will be no day of, or onsite sales. 

Tickets are non-refundable and will only be valid during the specified time frame and date purchased.

**In the event of a full weather cancellation, a rain date will be offered​.**​

If you are traveling in multiple vehicles, under one registration, please have your party caravan together prior to entering the car line. There is nowhere to pull over and wait and this will help with keeping the line coming into the Oatland Island for the Halloween Hike moving.

Fun Mother’s Day gift idea: give Mom a one-hour gentle yoga class led by certified yoga instructor, Sue Finkle, in the Wolf Cabin @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center, Sat. May 13 2023, 9-10AM.

Prior experience IS NOT necessary and one need not be flexible to take this class.

Limited to 10 Participants, to allow for appropriate distancing. Cost: $30.00 ticket. This event is geared towards ages 18+, though participants aged 16-17 are invited to attend with a paid adult.

Class will be from 9-10AM. Please plan to arrive between 8:15-8:30AM. Late arrivals after 8:45AM will be denied entry in order for the class to have time to walk to the wolf cabin and start on time.

Oatland Island Wildlife Center Enrichment Saturday – Wolves

Oatland Island Widlife Center animal care staff will take various natural non-toxic oils or other non-toxic scents like vanilla extract, lemon, cinnamon, mustard, etc. and place a few dabs around on the trees, on logs, on rocks, or inside boxes and watch the wolves try and roll on the objects.

Oatland’s Fall Harvest Festival is set for Sat. Nov. 19 2022

Come to Oatland Island Wildlife Center’s Fall Harvest & Cane Grinding Festival 2022 in Savannah to celebrate Georgia’s diverse agricultural traditions.

Centered around Oatland’s1800’s Heritage Homesite, history comes alive with old-time music, demonstrations and cane-boiling. See how “it was back then” amidst the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned fall gathering.​ 

Children young and old will enjoy social distance conscious demonstrations, take home crafts, live music and other fun presentations as you venture back through history.​
