Musical Kazoociciles (ages 5-12)
Join Lowcountry artist Amos Hummell in this wacky workshop where we will be crafting a kazoosaphone, a one-of-a kind musical instrument from recycled materials!

Palm Bark Puppets (ages 5-12)
In this workshop, kids will use native palm bark to create a fish marionette to tell your undersea stories. Your painted puppet will make a great souvenir of your summer island adventures!

 Gabby the Monkey decides to take a boat ride around the world. She meets all kinds of animals from Africa and Australia.

Multi-cultural storyteller J’miah Nabawi presents another action storytelling adventure, “There’s Rhythm in the Tellin’”. The program features children’s literature from around the world: Bruh Rabbit, Ananse the Spider and others along with gongs, drums, song and play. Many languages will be spoken and sung.

The Sandbox, An Interactive Children’s Museum, will host “Big Truck” Family Fun Night

This FREE monthly event is from 5:30-7:30 pm and will feature a variety of “big” trucks for kids to explore. Palmetto Electric’s bucket truck, Town of Hilton Head Fire Department, Tommy’s Towing Big Tow Truck, Fort Stewart’s Military Tactical Vehicles and a big “Monster” truck will all be on site.

The evening is free and offered to all families. There will be a special arts and crafts project and as always the museum is open for free admission to all visitors. A picnic dinner will be provided for all attendees.

The Sandbox hosts their monthly Family Fun Nights the first Friday of each month, September through May. The Family Fun Nights are made possible by The Bargain Box. This month’s event is sponsored by Guardian Angels Babysitting Service and SNAP! photography.
