This class offers interactive bonding time with parent and child. Play with your child in song and dance, helping them achieve confidence in cognitive and motor skills. Using props and imagination in themed organized play connects you with your child while watching their independence develop.

Grow the bond with your baby through music stimulation! Exposing your child to music from an early age ignites all areas of child development. Surrounded by sounds, instruments, and rhythms you will be helping your baby to develop social – emotional, motor, cognitive, language and literacy skills.
All classes take place at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center at 201 Montgomery St.
All players between the ages of 4-14 are invited to join Tormenta FC this season for recreation soccer across the various practice locations.
Register a full team of players or as an individual. Tormenta welcomes all boys and girls to participate in this soccer program.
The Recreation program will run for 8 weeks. Each team will practice once a week, and games are scheduled on Saturdays throughout the season. Recreation teams are coached by volunteer coaches, who are dedicated and committed to ensuring your player has the best soccer experience possible every season.
Participation fee: $100 and includes the team uniform jersey and soccer socks for all participants. Parents are responsible to purchase black shorts for practice sessions and games for the player to wear.
The Ibis Foundation provides a grant to Tormenta FC Academy to provide 100 free recreation soccer registrations per season to families in need of assistance. If your child qualifies for free or reduced school lunch, he or she qualifies for free soccer. Email Mike Dixon with proof of enrollment to receive your free registration.
Recreation All-Star Game: This season will see the first Recreation All-Star games! Players will be selected to represent their age group as an All-Star player to compete against other all-stars in the program.
The Tormenta Recreational Championship Tournament will conclude the Recreation season in November. This is a tournament designed for all interested teams between the U8-U14 aged teams.

Join us at the Jepson Center to develop your young person’s skills as a photographer. We believe that all young people are artists. With that in mind, we will approach photography as professionals do, studying the elements of art. The camp will meet outside as much as possible as we explore our environment in Telfair Square and other nearby locations. We will use DSLR digital cameras and learn about exposure, and a few historical methods involving film. Photography is fun and accessible to everyone.

Get ready for a day of family fun, as Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center offers a free all-ages event celebrating The Age of Armor, 10AM-5PM Sat. Aug. 19 2023
Visitors can see armor and mock battle demonstrations throughout the afternoon presented by the Shire of Forth Castle (Savannah area chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism) and members of Schola St. George (a group focused on the knightly culture and chivalric arts of the later Middle Ages) from Atlanta and the Southeast.
If you’re a local Chatham County resident or student, admission is waived for you to join in the Free Family fun. All you need to do is show proof of residency or enrollment at the front desk.

Toddler Tuesday is a program @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center in Savannah for 1-4 year old children and their caregivers that focuses on one of Oatland’s animals, or a relevant nature theme. The program meets at the picnic pavilion and includes singing, finger play, a story, and a possible encounter with one of Oatland’s furry, feathered or scaly residents.
Occasionally the program ventures to an exhibit, so dress appropriately and bring your stroller and walking shoes. Toddler Tuesday is weather dependent and in case of extreme weather and a cancellation is called for, attendees will be emailed at the address you registered your child with.
Sessions are offered twice on Tuesdays from 10AM-10:30AM & 11AM-11:30AM and registration is not required, but it helps us speed up check in and if there is a cancellation you will be the first to know.
Program Cost:
$5 for adults / free for adult FOO members
$3 for military adults/ free for adult FOO members
$5 for children participating in the program (FOO members and non members must pay program fee)
$3 per class if you buy a multi pass punch card (6 class minimum purchase)

Hosted by the American Society of Plant Biologists, the event kicks off Plant Biology Week in Savannah, during which ASPB’s annual Plant Biology conference will welcome more than 1,000 plant biologists and scientists from around the world.
Plant Science Saturday originated out of the desire for Plant Biology conference attendees to give back to their host cities.
Attendees start their journey into plant science with picking up a field guide that guides them through a range of hands-on activities. Learn about the building blocks of plant behavior by dissecting a lima bean, discover what components plants need to survive while creating a seed cup necklace, help plant scientists solve the challenges of growing plants in space, and more! Attendees who have visited all stations receive a Junior Plant Scientist completion certificate.

Mercer Medical School will host a teddy bear clinic where children can bring stuffed animals for a wellness checkup. Savannah Children’s Museum educators will lead health and wellness-themed activities throughout the day.
