Join rangers for a short 1/2 mile walk along beautiful marshes and witness nature at its finest. Watch bats take flight over the setting sun and learn about the world of bats. From Rice to Rebellion Fort Tour

The story of rice cultivation begins with the founding of the colony of Georgia in 1733, and was the regions largest economic export up until the American Civil War. The strategic placement of Fort McAllister was not only to protect the citizens of Savannah, but also the many rice plantations that lined the Ogeechee River. Registration Required. $9. 912-727-2339.
Fort Pulaski National Monument is free on Veterans Day 2020, Wed. Nov. 11
Fort Pulaski, island trails, parking lots, visitor center restrooms are open. Free admission on Wed. Nov. 11, 9AM-5PM
The visitor center & the north shoreline are closed. Construction projects have closed the Lighthouse Overlook Trail and will limit access to the historic fort. Historic Fort Pulaski may not be accessible to everyone with mobility issues.

There is still time to register for this special Halloween event, Tricks, Treats, & Trains, a socially distanced trick-or-treating experience at Georgia State Railroad Museum in Savannah this Sat. October 31, 2020, 10AM-12 PM.
Georgia State Railroad Museum is a large, open-air historic site with plenty of space for safe social distancing. Costumed staff and volunteers handing out treats will be positioned throughout the outdoor museum for participants to trick-or-treat. Halloween-themed activities will also be offered throughout the day at Savannah Children’s Museum from 9:30AM-2:30PM.
Tickets for Tricks, Treats, & Trains are $5 per person 18-months-old and up. A discounted combination ticket including admission to Savannah Children’s Museum and Tricks, Treats, & Trains are $10 per person.

Pooler Police Department TRICK-OR-TREAT
Bring your kids by the Pooler Police Department this Monday-Friday Oct. 26-Oct. 30 between 9AM-5PM to receive a Halloween goodie bag from Pooler police.

Safely trick-or-treat with the Savannah Police Department this Thurs. Oct. 29 5:30-7:30PM (or until the candy runs out) @ Daffin Park.
Cars will stop at decorated stations throughout the park to receive Halloween goodies.
Participants MUST BE in a vehicle, and cars will enter the park from Bee Road.
Walk-up trick-or-treating will not be allowed.

Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch go to the Navajo Indian Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico (This is also where the pumpkins come from, employing 700 Native Americans and making positive and lasting impact on a region with 42% unemployment); Risen Savior Christian Academy and Risen Savior’s youth conference travel expenses.

Despite the social distancing challenges we are all facing this year, the Savannah Coastal Empire Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is still hosting their annual Girls Engineer It Day!
This year the VIRTUAL event will be on Nov. 7 2020 and will consist of several tracks Elementary School and Middle School aged students can choose from.
Less that 40 percent of STEM college graduates are female. The goal of Girls’ Engineer It Day is to engage elementary and middle school students and show how much fun and interesting STEM-related topics can be.
Participants will learn from fun, hands-on engineering activities taught by local STEM professionals.
