Pirate event free for kids at new Lowcountry museum
We’re excited about a new local free non-profit museum offering family events: Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage in Ridgeland, SC.
It is located in a restored 1937 Sinclair service station that was transformed into a museum and exhibition hall to highlight history of the Lowcountry.

Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-5PM
Upcoming family-friendly events at the Morris Center include a pirates’ exhibit preview with Pirate reenactors, food, kids activities, treasures for kids to win and more.

Free Sweetbaskets of the Lowcountry Event
Wed. Feb. 17, 2-3pm.
Enjoy light refreshments while learning about the history & the craft of Lowcountry Sweetgrass basket weaving from native Jery B. Taylor. Born and raised in St. Helena, SC, Mrs. Taylor is a well-known basket weaver. She will showcase some of her baskets and demonstrate how these baskets are made.
