Parent & Me time: FREE library storytimes

Free kids events Savannah library storytimesLive Oak Public Libraries storytimesare a wonderful FREE way to expose your child to storybooks read aloud by a librarian as well as songs and fingerplays.

Plus, attending storytimes regularly helps your child to become accustomed to visiting the library regularly.

Free storytimes are offered for different age groups at the local branches – including Wilmington Island, Bull Street, Pooler, Thunderbolt, Oglethorpe Mall branch & Tybee Is. – at various times on weekday mornings. You can find a storytime happening at at least one branch Mondays through Thursdays.

There’s even a new afternoon, after-school storytime now that’s offered for ages 5 to 11 at 4 PM Tuesdays at the Oglethorpe Mall branch library.

Each library branch storytime brings something a little different – Bull Street library storytime unfolds inside a cottage playhouse that looks like it’s right out of a Golden Book while storytime at Southwest Library next to Savannah Mall is in a new, sunlit auditorium.

Enjoy energetic choruses of “Hurry Up, Hurry Up, Drive that Fire Truck,” “Little Red Wagon” and standards like “Wheels on the Bus” plus fun stories, crafts and more.
