Storytimes
Storytimes are a fun way to spark your child’s interest in books. Storytimes usually involve much more than simply reading a book. Chances are your child will also engage singalongs, fingerplays and crafts. Here’s a list of local storytimes in our area:
Toddler Tuesdays at Oatland Island Wildlife Center .
TWO Toddler Tuesdays timeslots each week. Same topic and activities for each one.
One program will be at 10-10:45 AM and the second at 11-11:45 AM.
Gates open at 9:45 AM.
Preregistration is required. Register via phone at 912.395.1500 or 912.395.1517 or sign up at Oatland’s gift shop. REGISTER BY NOON MONDAY. Limit of 20 toddlers per program, so sign up early. $3 program fee per child and adults free! Cash or checks only. Included in the program fee is entrance to Oatland including the opportunity to walk the trails or visit the Barnyard after the program.

Storytime @ Roundhouse Railroad Museum
The Roundhouse Railroad Museum @ 601 W. Harris St has a special once-a-month story and craft time in the Kidz Zone in the museum’s baggage car.
Cost: $4 per child plus adult admission.

Mommy and Me program Tuesdays and Thursdays @ UGA’s Marine Education Center and Aquarium, 30 Ocean Science Circle, Skidaway Island.
Every Tuesday & Thursday mornings for children between the ages of 1 and 4. Hands-on experiences with different animals, arts and crafts, a story time, and a game.
Maximum of 15 participants. Cost: $6/child for non-member; $4/child for members. Adults get in free with a paid child. Call for times and to register, call 912-598-2496, email fish@uga.edu or click here.
Occasional Saturday Mommy and Me programs are held for working moms.
Live Oak Public Libraries storytimes are a wonderful FREE way to expose your child to storybooks read aloud by a librarian as well as songs and fingerplays.
