April is the Month of the Military Child. In preparation for the celebration, a special 7-week program of stories, music and imagery will be offered for children between the ages of 6 to 10, giving them new skills to cope with the stress of deployment through music inspired creativity. The Parade begins at 10:15 a.m. following celebration of Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

The parade begins at the corner of Gwinnett and Abercorn, and makes its way north on Abercorn to Broughton, where it turns east to East Broad Street. The parade turns north on E. Broad and then heads west on Bay, past City Hall, where it takes a left on Bull Street, ending at Harris Street.

The City of Savannah’s guide to St. Patrick’s Day is available at www.savannahga.gov . The guide is for residents, visitors and businesses who plan to participate in the celebration March 17-19. Topics include parking and transportation options, vendor permitting and rules for using the parks and squares on the day of the parade.

Audiences will fall in love with Columbia City Ballet’s Cinderella with its sheer artistry of the dancing, the comic brilliance of the stepsisters and the magical, clearly-portrayed story that make the production the perfect family outing and a great ballet for first-timers. An Art and Nature Family Day event will feature presentations by Oatland Island Educational Center and programs focused on William Bartram’s time, including the “Music of Colonial Georgia” by David and Ginger Hildebrand. A workshop for teens and young adults will introduce techniques for documenting local flora and fauna with the goal of producing portfolio quality works, and the resulting images will be displayed after the workshop at the Jepson Center.

Free of charge, thanks to project funding provided by the City of Savannah.

May 19 theme: Symmetrical Creatures
Toddler Third Thursdays are great for parents, grandparents, and caregivers with pre-schoolers. Designed especially for children ages 3-5 and their adult companions, the program provides a developmentally appropriate gallery experience followed by a visit to the studios, where the children are introduced to an arts activity related to the tour. A different tour and project will be offered each month. Time to explore in ArtZeum is included.
