Daytime fun: Get lost in Poppell’s tall corn maze, enjoy wagon rides and the Pumpkin Patch!  Saturdays & Sundays during October through Nov. 2 2025.

Stay after dark on Friday and Saturday nights 5-9PM to explore the maze with a flashlight (it’s NOT haunted).  Areas of the farm are lit for visitors to enjoy some (not all) farm activities at night. No hayride to the pumpkins at night.

Frogwarts 2025 will be Sun. Oct. 19 @ Georgia State Railroad Museum & Savannah Children’s Museum

Save the date for Coastal Heritage Society’s popular annual fall festival: Frogwarts: A Magical Adventure! on Sunday, October 19th, 11am-3pm in Savannah.

Georgia State Railroad Museum and Savannah Children’s Museum will transform into a magical Harry Potter-themed experience during Frogwarts 2025.

Highlights include: train rides; wand-making; potions; quill writing; reptiles; owls; quidditch; STEAM activities; and more.

Families are immersed in STEAM activities such as chemistry, engineering, biology, and art, all disguised as magical classes inspired by the beloved book series.

Lowcountry Turners will be making custom lathe-turning wands that will be available for purchase while supplies last.

Other activities will be led by CHS community partners including Dogwood Pediatric Dentistry, Callaway Critters, Georgia Southern Center for Wildlife Education, Memorial Health Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital, Coastal Rail Buffs, Garrison Voices, Snapology, Savannah Tree Foundation, and Starbase Savannah.

Top Dog, Popcorn Geeks, Pie Society food trucks plus Savannah Square Pops will be on site with food available for purchase.

Connie Shreve — who teaches outdoor education at Savannah Ogeechee Canal Museum and Nature Center’s popular Swamp School homeschool program — will present a program all about pine trees and participants will make paper.

Visitors will also participate in open exploration of our museum and our weekly Farm Friday program featuring a special farm-to-table snack.

Make plans to attend one of the best Savannah Fall kids traditions: Halloween Hike @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center Fri & Sat. Oct. 17 & 18, 5-8PM.

Walk with your trick or treater through Oatland’s friendly forest of nature trails to meet and gather goodies from cheerful animal characters. Face painting, crafts, concessions, and much more.

Ticket prices: Adult – $8, Children – $10

Early Registration opens to current (as of September 22nd) FOO (Friends of Oatland) members on Friday, September 26th. 

Registration opens to the public on Monday, September 29th. 

NOTE: Oatland Island will close to the public at 3:30 PM to prepare for Halloween Hike. Last admissions will be at 2:00 PM.

Toddler Tuesdays @ Oatlland Island Wildlife Center

Toddler Tuesday is an Oatland Wildlife Center program for 1-4 year old children and their caregivers that focuses on one of Oatland’s animals, or a relevant nature theme. The program will meet at the picnic pavilion​ and will include singing, finger play, a story, and a possible encounter with one of ​our furry, feathered or scaly​ residents.

Occasionally the program ventures to an exhibit, so dress appropriately and bring your stroller and walking shoes.

Pre-registration is no longer necessary.  You can just show up and sign in.  Pre-school programs must book a private program. 

In the event of inclement weather we may cancel. Please check the website or Oatland’s social media or call the center if you are uncertain (912-395-1500). 

Sessions are offered twice on Tuesdays from 10-10:30AM & 11-11:30AM.

If you don’t see a new theme, don’t worry, the program runs all year except one week during 4th of July, one week in October when prepping for Halloween Hike, Nov. 11 and over the winter holidays.

Harvest Festival 2025 @ Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Save the date for Oatland Island’s Wildlife Center’s another fall festival: Harvest Festival & Cane Grinding 2025 on Saturday, Nov. 15 10AM- 4PM. 

Celebrating Georgia’s diverse agricultural traditions during this annual fundraising event. 

Centered around Oatland’s 1800’s Heritage Homesite, history comes alive at this old-fashioned fall gathering.  The sights, sounds and aromas will tug at your senses as you enjoy music, games, crafts, traditional demonstrations, live animal encounters and more. 

We will be grinding sugar cane and making cane syrup and preparing hearth cooked recipes to sample. The whole family will enjoy this unique southern fall celebration.

(Savannah Fall Festivals 2025) Paddle Battle with live music, pontoon family boat rides, kayak & paddle board races

Wilderness Southeast (WiSE) is hosting its 4th annual “Paddle Battle” on September 13th, 11 AM – 3 PM, at the Sun Life Marina on Wilmington Island, which is a 20-minute drive from downtown Savannah, Georgia.  The event will feature:

*Two “Paddle Battle” Races (5K and 10K) and a 1-mile “FUN” race

*Low Country Boil and Beverages

*Live Music with the Crabettes and another performance TBA

*Raffle with Big Prizes and Award Ceremony 

*Pontoon Family Boat Ride with Bull River Cruises

*Games and Activities for Kids

Tickets (ages 21 and over) are $50 (to paddle and/or party). 

Tickets include food, non-alcoholic beverages and an adult drink ticket.  

Ages 12-21 are $25 per person.
