Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorites! I remember seeing it when it first came out (I was in college) and I fell in love with the musical score. I also think that is has a wonderful story line that teaches children to value character qualities over outward appearances. And isn’t it great that Belle LOVES books! Something I want to instill in my children as well.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:33 am

Who doesn’t LOVE The Jungle Book and Baloo the Bear?!?!My daughter and I have both enjoyed dancing to his “Bear Necessities” song and his easygoing and fun-loving character who shirks responsibility. He has appeared in three animated series, TaleSpin (as a pilot), Jungle Cubs (as a cub) and Disney’s House of Mouse (as a guest), as well as a feature-length sequel to the animated movie. He also made a cameo appearance in the Disney on Ice play, Disney Presents Pixar’s The Incredibles in a Magic Kingdom Adventure, meeting up with Violet. Disney’s Baloo is arguably the most popular character in The Jungle Book. Baloo was made famous the song The Bare Necessities, sung by Phil Harris, in which he tells Mowgli how a life of leisure can be achieved by living off the land - if you know the tricks.
September 29th, 2008 at 10:22 am

I have a soft spot for Lady and the Tramp.
September 30th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
I have always loved Snow White!! It really is the movie that started it all. And all the critics thought Disney was crazy for making a full length animated movie.
September 30th, 2008 at 10:12 pm

I don’t have an all-time favorite character or movie, but one Disney character brings fond memories.
I grew up rotating one of those boxed Cinderella Halloween costumes between my three sisters. There was a dress and one of those plastic masks with Cinderella’s face, an elastic string and three holes: two to see through and one to breathe through. We rotated that for at least a decade. Probably longer.
In recent years, even before having children, I’ve come to list “Finding Nemo” and “Cars” as movies I love. They each have wonderful stories and fantastic art.
And Christopher Robbins is charming. Gotta love a sweet little boy with a vivid imagination. Kenny Loggins even has a touching song about Christopher Robbins.

I love Mufasa in the Lion King - a strong sensible father figure.
