Phased reopening of areas near Fort Pulaski National Monument, Savannah
Historic Fort Pulaski and Cockspur Island near Savannah remain closed due to the COVID-19 shutdown. A reopening date has not released.
Fort Pulaski National Monument is working closely with the National park Service Office of Public Health officials on implementing an adaptive recovery plan to increase access to park areas. The goal is to ensure public areas and work spaces are safe and clean for visitors, employees, partners, and volunteers.
While Cockspur Island is currently closed, The Lazaretto Creek and the McQueen’s Islands areas of the park are currently accessible to the public.
