Turtle Tuesdays
Every Tuesday in June, 2-3PM
Meet a new turtle that’s native to the Georgia coast each Tuesday in June at the UGA Aquarium! Turtle talks begin at 2 p.m. and include a feeding at the aquarium’s freshwater turtle pond as well as an opportunity to interact with one of the aquarium’s ambassador turtles. The turtle talks are included in general admission to the UGA Aquarium, paid by cash or check. Learn more here. 

Toddler Touch Tanks
Every Thursday in June plus July 11 & 18, 10-11AM
Explore the coast with your child in a unique setting perfect for inspiring wonder and curiosity! Toddler Touch Tank programs are specifically designed with our youngest visitors in mind. They include a mix of games, art, stories and animal encounters that provide fun learning experiences about the ocean. Pre-registration is encouraged to guarantee your spot. Register online here. 

Behind the Scenes Aquarium Tours
Every Thursday in June, 2-3PM
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the UGA Aquarium? Spend the afternoon exploring our exhibits before learning what it’s like to care for native marine life during a behind-the-scenes tour led by marine educators. Fishing 101
June 15, 10AM-Noon.
Want to try your luck fishing the Skidaway River? During this two-hour program, participants can fish off the floating dock at the UGA Aquarium while learning how to identify different fish, such as whiting, spot and more. Gear and bait will be provided. Registration is required by June 11. Register online here. 

Family Field Trip: Crabbing
June 18
Did you know the scientific name for blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, means “savory beautiful swimmer”? Learn all about these amazing animals during a catch-and-release crabbing lesson on the dock behind the UGA Aquarium. Crab traps and bait will be provided. Family Field Trip: Maritime Forest Hike
June 25, 10AM-Noon
Discover the hidden wonders of the maritime forest during a guided hike with marine educators at the UGA Aquarium. The program includes a live reptile demonstration that will allow visitors to interact with snakes and turtles that serve as ambassador animals for education and conservation.
