The A-Town Get Down Art & Music Festival will return to Savannah for its 8th year on Sat. April 21 2018, noon-10PM on Indian Street – Under the Bridge, between Fahm and Warner Streets.
The festival, held each year in memory and honor of SCAD student Alex “A-Town” Townsend, operates with the mission of increasing access to art and music experiences throughout the Savannah community. There will be endless entertainment for attendees of all ages.

Savannah’s hands-on, interactive, family-friendly celebration of live art, music, and food truck cuisine includes a robust musical lineup of familiar favorites, including headliner Chuck Leavell, who many in the Savannah area will remember as a key figure in The Allman Brothers Band. Leavell’s keyboard work has also been heard on the works of Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, and many other prominent artists.
Festival attendees will also enjoy performances by The New Familiars, called ‘an Americana rock & roll fixture’ in the southeast; Southern Avenue, considered to be Memphis’ best soul, blues and gospel band; Randall Bramblett, dubbed by Rolling Stone as “one of the South’s most lyrical and literate songwriters;” and more.
As with every A-Town Festival, professional local and regional artists will produce live art installations and large-scale performances as well as participate in interactive workshops with festival attendees of all ages.
The A-Town Get Down Art & Music Festival sees many returning sponsors who annually support this interactive day of art and music experiences.
