Bring a buddy and get muddy! Join us for a night of fun and creativity exploring clay in a supportive environment. This night is for couples and is open to all skill levels. We will work on the wheel and see what we get! The fee includes all materials, glaze, and firing of one piece per person. Pieces will be available to pick up 2-3weeks after the class. Parent & Child Nightlight Glass Fusing Workshop NEW!

As the nights get longer, scare away the monsters with a nightlight that you and your youngster created together. Come join the fun and learn how to crush, cut, and melt glass into your own unique design. We will be using real glass to make a fused glass nightlight. Because we are using glass, children must be over the age of 5 to participate and an adult must be present. Please note: projects will be available for pick up at a later date due to the kiln firing process. Workshop is limited to 10 students total.

This class will focus primarily on foundational drawing techniques. Students will learn the fundamental principle of using basic shapes to construct images. As students learn and discover their own shape language from the classes, they will be able to use the basic drawing principles taught during the class to build their future drawing skills.

Build an eye catching artist portfolio to meet your individual needs! The class will consist of creating artworks based on the foundations of the Visual Arts. Illustrations from real life, original paintings, and an array of techniques will emphasize your uniqueness and self- expression. If you are struggling with certain materials or concepts, critiques during the art making process will help guide and improve the final product. The culmination of these pieces will be structured into an artist portfolio to present to future schools or for personal assessment.

Exploring Cyanotype

Cyanotype is a photographic chemistry that dates back to the 1840s and makes beautiful blue-toned images. In the first day of this workshop, students will learn how to coat paper to make it light-sensitive, and create photograms from different objects. Tickets are now on sale for the 2017 “Old Fort Jackson Family Campover,” the annual event for families to experience history firsthand in a 207-year-old National Landmark. Purchase tickets online here.

The campoover will be Friday, March 3 at 5PM through Saturday, March 4 at 9AM at Old Fort Jackson, 1 Fort Jackson Rd, Savannah, GA 31404.

During the event children will train as soldiers from the American Revolution and participate in a reenactment of the 1778 Battle of Savannah. Adults will have the opportunity to train as Civil War soldiers and learn the drill for the 12 lb. howitzer, our historic cannon, and fire the weapon.

Tent setup will begin at 5PM. Dinner will be served at 6:15PM followed by fun military activities. The night will end with smores, historic songs and games. The next morning campers will rise, pack up their gear, enjoy breakfast and participate in the event closing ceremonies.

Preregistration and prepayment are required and tickets are $55 for children ages 6 to 15 years of age. Tickets are $35 for adults 16 years of age and older, with an optional black powder demonstration add-on costing $50.

The Lowcountry Lacrosse mission is to provide a positive, instruction oriented program for boys new to the sport of lacrosse and provide advanced skill training and organized teams to those who are experienced players.

Their seasoned coaches want to teach the technical skills of lacrosse while providing an opportunity for personal development. They believe that lacrosse should be fun for the players but provide a foundation for building character that will instill teamwork, discipline, integrity, sportsmanship and respect to other players, coaches and parents.
