A new term of arts classes at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center start back January 6th! Choose from offerings in dance, painting, clay and more for kids and teens ages 2-18.
Make a mark that will celebrate your family over the holiday break November 23rd-24th and 26th 2024 @ Learning Through Studio’s family/group art making workshops.
You will learn the basics of mark-making by using printmaking techniques to create a customized mixed-media work of art. All art supplies are included. Feel free to bring your own snacks to share.
Each Family or group will leave with handmade mixed media painting on paper ready to decorate your home. Each participant will leave also with a 8×10 canvas panel to add to this memory. Framing information available by request.

Beginning Youth Clay
Tuesdays 4-5PM | Ages 9-12 | 8/20-9/24
Kids aged 9-12 will explore the creative possibilities of clay over 6 sessions in Beginning Youth Clay! This fun and energetic class geared toward young artists will cover a mix of skill-building and experimental projects. Completed projects will be glazed and fired, allowing participants to end the course with fully finished pieces.
Kids aged 6-8 will expand their creativity over 5 sessions in Discovering Art! Students will complete a variety of fun projects in different mediums and learn how to paint, draw and sculpt a variety of subjects.
Kids aged 9-12 will expand their creativity over 5 sessions in Adventures in Art! 2-D and 3-D mediums will be covered, including working with clay, painting, and creating mixed media artwork.
Kids aged 2-3 and parent will enjoy interactive bonding time over 8 sessions in Parent and Child Movement! Play with your child in song and dance, helping them achieve confidence in cognitive and motor skills. Using props and imagination in themed organized play connects you with your child while watching their independence develop.
Kids aged 9-12 will develop their drawing and painting skills over 6 sessions in Youth Drawing and Painting! Complete a variety of fun projects that will include watercolor, pastels, and acrylics.
Kids aged 9-13 will explore the drama of musical theatre over 9 sessions in Youth Musical Theatre! Students will sing, dance and act in this beginner friendly class and explore different musicals, styles of dance, and bring acting into movements of dance to transform into a true theater kid!
Tweens and teens aged 11-14 will learn the ins and outs of theatre arts over 20 sessions in Exploring Drama and Stagecraft! Students will gain acting experience and learn the fundamentals of playwriting, set design, costume design, and lighting design.
Telfair Museums in Savannah offers fee-based afterschool classes each fall and winter for children K–12. Afterschool classes for students for Fall 2024 include painting and drawing and digital photography.

Roll up your sleeves and tap into your creative side as we explore many materials to create wearable and useable pieces of art. Introduction to beads, Kumihimo (the Japanese art of braiding), the use of knotting and paper will be explored. Projects will include friendship bracelets, key rings, and Kumihimo bracelets.

Scribble Art Studio in Savannah will offer three days of art instruction during the first part of Thanksgiving Week 2023 when Savannah-Chatham public schools are closed for fall break.
Participants will learn various art techniques. Materials are provided.
Projects include landscape, portraiture, and independent study.
Friends of Oatland (FOO) and Oatland Island Wildlife Center are hosting a t-shirt design contest and your design could be chosen for a limited edition Oatland t-shirt available for the 2023 holiday season! The design should feature the animals, plants, or history of Oatland Island and can utilize as many as 4 colors. Submissions Open: October 20, 2023 Submissions Deadline: November 9, 2023 Find all details and submit your design online here.
This Savannah fall festival will feature Oatland’s 1800’s cabins, old-time demonstrations, games, music, open fire cooking, crafts, and more. Animal education and interaction table will be open from 10-11AM and 2-3PM.
Games, crafts, snack bar, and hay rides will require tickets (available for purchase on site on festival day). Sugar cane syrup will also be available for purchase.
