Join this hands-on workshop open to all skill levels interested in fused glass. Students will learn basic glass cutting and fusing techniques creating a unique fused glass wind chime.

“I can’t” (Yes you can) – A Multimedia Workshop NEW

A one day workshop that explores how the feelings of ‘I can’t’ keep you from creating a work of art.

This ancient Japanese ceramic firing technique in which 1800° glowing red hot works are removed from the kiln and placed into a reduction chamber filled with combustibles is sure to inflame and inspire. Personal bisque fired works can be glazed and fired. Pieces will be available for those who want to participate.

Festive Mask Making

Come transform yourself into any creature you’d like! In this two hour workshop, students will learn how to make a festive mask out of felt! Basic sewing and embroidery techniques will be covered.

Girls on the Run begins the week of August 24th in Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties.

Girls on the Run is starting their tenth year in Coastal Georgia and reaches almost 1,000 girls annually in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty. Girls on the Run mission: to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run is a transformational learning program for girls in grades 3-8. The program teaches life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games, culminating with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K run which illustrates confidence through accomplishment and healthy life choices.

Shoe drive

Girls on the Run in Coatal Georgia is holding a shoe drive – a collection of gently used shoes of all types, women’s, men’s and children’s – sneakers, boots, sandals, heels, etc. The goal is to raise funds for this after-school program for girls in grades 3-8 while benefiting microenterprise ventures in developing nations and keeping old shoes out of local landfills.

Donation bins area available now through October at the YMCAs in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty Counties as well as most Howard Family Dental offices, Fleet Feet, Bahama Joes, GA Game Changers and Seacrest Partners.

The Storm Soccer Academy programs Sweet Feet Academy and Sweet Feet Krush in Savannah work with participants between the ages of four and seven years old in developing soccer skills in a fun and exciting environment.

Children love participating in these programs because coaches teach on the children’s level and allow them the freedom to explore the activity of soccer at their own speed. Byrd’s transported after-school martial arts on Whitemarsh Island Savannah provides a fun & safe after-school experience for children.

Back to school special: Enroll by July 20 for the upcoming fall session & save.  Get 2 private lessons & a crisp, new uniform for $29. 

The program focuses on developing students’ discipline & attitude toward school. They evolve into a positive “Yes, I can” attitude while forming strong friendships.  The program also focuses on physical fitness, proper socialization skills, teamwork, cooperation skills.

The entire class learns karate kicks and punches, how to deal with bullies and they play fun martial arts games and drills.

Each class features a special theme or ingredient and includes an interactive nutrition lesson or game. With each theme, Tummy Time Foods takes the kids on a new culinary adventure, different flavors, cuisines and seasonal produce. They incorporate nutrition and emphasize healthy eating in every class. Parents/caregivers are welcome to drop-off or stay and watch. Classes are for ages 8 & older and advanced tickets for each class are required. Cost is $25 per class or purchase a Discounted 3-Class Bundle for $65.
