On Saturday, Oct. 27, The Sandbox Children’s Museum on Hilton Head Is. is celebrating Halloween Festivities at the “Spookalicious” Celebration, from 10am-5pm.

Wear your favorite costume and come enjoy holiday festivities and fun exhibits/activities at The Sandbox. Enjoy Halloween themed crafts, programs, and “Trick or Treats!” all day long. Decorate a special Halloween cookie and participate in a holiday scavenger hunt. Guess how many candy corns in the jar. Guess “What’s in the Box!” And Jump in the Sandbox’s Bounce House! There will be a bag of treats for each child.

Admission is a Saturday Play special: $5 per person.

Chris Blaine, author of the Beyond Hocus-Pocus series of preteen books will host a book signing at Barnett Educational Supplies at 38 West DeRenne Avenue from 10 AM-noon & 4-6 PM on Friday, Oct. 26 2012.

Chris Blaine, well known for his hair-raising campfire stories filled with monsters, ghouls and ghosts were originally given during Scout camping events in order to get the boys in their zipped tent, in a sleeping bag, quiet and with lights out. The series of scary short stories were taken from an oral format, set in the woods at night with Mr. Blaine’s using numerous props and, after prompting, placed into a written format some years later. A portion of the proceeds has been and will continue to be given to the Boy Scouts.
