Come to Savannah Sharks new Richmond HIll gym for a safe, fun playtime with your toddler (crawlers up to age 5) on Sat. Jan. 25, 10:30-Noon.
These “play dates” are unstructured playtime with age-appropriate toys, swings, slides, a bouncy house, and more. It is a great way to get your child out of the house and around other children in a safe, clean and fun environment.

Toddler Tuesday is an Oatland Wildlife Center program for 1-4 year old children and their caregivers that focuses on one of our animals, or a relevant nature theme. The program will meet at the picnic pavilion and will include singing, finger play, a story, and a possible encounter with one of our furry, feathered or scaly residents.
Occasionally the program ventures to an exhibit, so dress appropriately and bring your stroller and walking shoes. Toddler Tuesday is weather dependent and in case of extreme weather and a cancellation is called for, attendees will be emailed at the address you registered your child with.
Sessions are offered twice on Tuesdays from 10-10:30AM & 11-11:30AM.
If you don’t see a new theme, don’t worry, the program runs all year except one week during 4th of July and over the winter holidays.

Youth and teens can unleash their creativity in a fun and engaging clay class in the new year! In youth clay, students will learn fundamental hand building techniques while creating fun and imaginative pieces. In teen clay, students will learn a mix of hand building, skill-building, and experimental projects.

Animal of the Day: Drop by the Interpretive Center to meet, touch, and learn all about one of the animals.
Archery*: Learn the basics of archery and test your skills on the range. This program will cover basic safety and technique. Equipment provided. Participants must be at least 10 years old. $10 per person. Please call the Visitor Center to register in advance. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early to check in at the archery range.
DIY Birdfeeder: Birdfeeders provide an energetic boost to the diets of local and migrating birds looking for a hearty meal. Make your own to take home while watching our birdfeeders. Meet behind the Visitor Center at the picnic tables. $3 per person.
History Hike: How to build an island: Natural history buffs will enjoy this exciting hike all about the formation of the barrier islands in our area, including information about the mega fauna that once lived here. Meet at the Big Ferry Trailhead for a 1.5 mile hike.
iNaturalist 101: Learn how to use the smartphone and desktop applications to make observations, suggest identifications, explore wildlife in the local area, and more! Download the app and create an account ahead of time to get the most out of this program. Meet in front of the Visitor Center for a brief tutorial before we head outside to make observations.
Kids Care: Cleanup Challenge: On this National Day of Service, here’s an opportunity to give back! As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” Stop by the Visitor Center to receive information and materials. Junior Rangers will receive credit towards a Kids Care service patch.
National Bird Day Hike: Join us on this special day for an easy 1-mile hike to and from the iconic observation tower. You will enjoy learning how to spot and identify forest and shore birds with a ranger. Meet at the Big Ferry Trailhead.
Picnic with a View: Pack a lunch and join us for a laid-back hike to the observation tower. Meet at the Big Ferry Trailhead at 12:30PM. The total distance is 1 mile, with a break at the observation tower to eat lunch as we enjoy the beauty of Skidaway Narrows.
Read with a Ranger: Young children will enjoy getting out for this hour of interactive reading. Listen to nature stories perfect for children with a love of the outdoors. Meet at the Interpretive Center, outside if fair weather.
Roving Ranger: A ranger will be roving the park to answer your questions about local flora, fauna, and more!
Still time to sign up for one of the many runs this weekend Jan. 31-Feb. 1 as part of the YMCA Critz Tybee Run Fest 2025: 5K, 10K, half marathon, 2.8 Mile Beach run, 1 mile and kiddie run.

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System has two programs for our youngest learners. Students are eligible for the state-funded Pre-K programs in the 2025-26 school year if they will be four years old by September 1 and reside in Chatham county.
