Experience The Summer Academy at Calvary Day School in Savannah.
This will be the 44th year of summer camp at Calvary! The mission of the Calvary Summer Academy is to provide parents and campers with a Convenient, Community-based, and Christ-centered learning experience through engaging activities that will help develop the camper socially, physically, academically, and spiritually.
Camp hours are from 7AM-6PM. Daily camp activities include: Arts & Crafts; Music Station; STEM Activities; Bible Skits & discussions; Reading Stations. Once-a-week swimming at the Jenkins Boys Club where there is a trained lifeguard on duty at all times. Camp staff are all CPR/First-Aid certified. Field trips – one per week – destinations include:
Inflatable Water Slides & bounce houses on campus
Savannah Sharks Cheer Gymnasium
Movie Theater
Roller Skating (2nd grade & older)
Oatland Island Wildlife Center

Calvary Summer Academy is open to rising Kindergarten children (must be 5 years old at the time of registration) through those entering the eighth grade.

Camp is structured into four main groups:
Kindergarten – 1st Grade
2nd Grade – 3rd Grade
4th Grade – 5th Grade
6th Grade – 8th Grade
Your child will be placed in the grade they will be entering in the 2019-2020 school year. In the two younger groups, the campers are split into teams with 1 to 2 counselors assigned to that team. These teams will travel together throughout the day to different stations, activities, and field trips.

The event starts in Wilder Chapel which faces 63rd Street.
This is a drop in, casual event that is open to the public and for all ages. REGISTER ONLINE HERE.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in 15-20 stations with various hands-on activities and engaging demos. The activities include math, art, music, chemistry, physics,biology and more.

Calvary Day School in Savannah welcomes Joseph Almeida as the new assistant principal of the Lower School at Calvary.
Almeida has experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator in Tennessee, Brazil, South Carolina, and now Georgia. He went to Brazil on a mission trip and was there for seven years. Almeida served as a teacher and later became the elementary principal at School of the Nations in Brasilia, Brazil. He, his wife, Kathleen, and their children live in Bluffton, SC.
John 15:12 is a verse Almedia tries to live by every day: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you”.
Calvary Day School is a Pre-K through 12th grade private, Christian school in Savannah.

As part of Military Appreciation, all active and retired military members will receive free admission into the game. 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade Commander, Col. Mark Johnson, will flip the coin during the pre-game ceremony. All VFW & American Legion Members will be honored on the field during halftime.

The Summer Academy at Calvary Day School in Savannah will be back again this summer for its 41st year.
The mission of Calvary’s summer camp is to provide each child with a fun, Christ-centered experience through activities that allow them to grow physically, emotionally & spiritually.
Camps offered at this conveniently located Savannah camp include:
+athletic camps (volleyball, basketball, football)
+recreation camp for entering pre-K thru 8th grade

Chase was chosen among several excellent candidates from schools around the world. Ultimately the best candidate came from within the Calvary family. Chase is one of Calvary’s current Kindergarten teachers.
She now will be the next leader to guide the continued growth and development of Calvary’s elementary children and challenge Calvary’s staff to ever-higher heights.

Open House events begin in the High School Media Center, located in the Calvary High School building. After a brief introduction from administrative staff, you are invited on a tour of the campus followed by refreshments.
