Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) will offer a tuition-based Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program for the 2022-23 school year. Our program is not a Georgia Lottery funded program. The Children’s School at St. John’s Church in Savannah is currently seeking an enthusiastic Pre -Kindergarten Teacher to guide a classroom of four- and five-year-old children in a variety of educational activities including arts and crafts, free play and reading readiness.
Your prime responsibility would be to teach the fundamental concepts in preparation for kindergarten, such as identifying numbers and letters, socializing with others, and working effectively in a classroom structure.
Patience, compassion, and energy are all vital qualities of a successful pre-K teacher. Pre-K applications for the 2022-23 school year for Savannah-Chatham public schools will be available from Feb. 15 to March 4, 2022. When completing the application, be prepared to submit your child’s birth certificate and proof of address in the application. Lottery notifications will be sent on April 6, 2022
To participate in the Pre-K Program for School Year 22-23, children must be four years of age on or before September 1, 2022 and must be a resident of Chatham County.
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System has 65 Georgia Lottery funded Pre-K classes. The Pre-Kindergarten program provides a full day (6.5 hours) of appropriate instructional services to students for the regular school calendar year. The purpose of the Pre-K Program is school readiness and transition to Kindergarten for success in later school years.
