Labor Day weekend events in Savannah Old Fort Jackson

Come to Old Fort Jackson in Savannah over Labor Day Weekend 2017 Sept. 2-4 2017 for enhanced programming.

Visitors can explore fort history, including the two major phases of construction of the fort itself, and participate in a variety of hands-on activities. All programming is included in fort admission and is FREE for Coastal Heritage Society members.

This special program offers visitors an in-depth understanding of the Revolutionary War in Savannah. It includes a musket demonstration and a visitor reenactment on Battlefield Memorial Park.

Labor Day Weekend Living History

Fort King George Historic Site
Darien, GA
The fort will come to life as colonial people demonstrate various tasks. Visit the site this day and enjoy watching a volunteer make colonial style “boondoggle” decorations from woven blades of grass. Also, there will be demonstrations of spinning wool into thread.

Enjoy cannon firings and musket firings. Also, to mark the occasion, the fort seamstress, blacksmith and woodworker will all be plying their trades.

Labor Day Commemoration

Fort Morris Historic Site
Midway, GA
7 miles east of I-95 exit 76 in Sunbury
Commemorate Labor Day holiday with hourly soldier talks and musket and cannon firings at this scenic coastal fort. Historically attired interpreters will present revolutionary war soldier talks, musket and cannon demonstrations Monday September 4th from 11 am until 3 pm. Other colonial skills will be presented. Bring a picnic lunch and make an afternoon of it.

Labor Day Fireworks, Tybee Is. 
@ 10th Annual Labor Day Beach Bash
Sun. Sept. 3 @ Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion.
Free live entertainment will be provided on Sunday by Swingin’ Medallions from 7-10:30PM, followed by a fireworks show around 9:15PM that can be viewed from Tybee’s eastern beaches.
