The Georgia Christmas snow storm meant we were snowed in for four and half days in a mountainside cabin in Blue Ridge, Ga. Four days with a 2 and 4 year old and a quickly diminishing supply of treats (and patience). Fortunately, I had packed the two new Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVDs.

One collection “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs and More Animal Adventures” (62 mins. + extras, $14.95) features Jon Scieszka’s fun and creative take on the Three Little Pigs along with four additional stories. Come meet artist Beth Pray and have her capture a timeless treasure of your child in a hand cut silhouette. With five years experience at Walt Disney World and 19 years total, she cuts black acid free paper into an exact likeness of her subject. Beth will mount them and place them on a 5×7 mat.
