This musical playdate celebrating the beauty of winter will be offered once in the studio and once virtually, over Zoom.

Open to children ages 0-7 with their caregivers on Sat. Dec. 12 2020.

Studio class will be at 10AM; virtual class will be at 11AM.

Each child will receive an instrument and 10 Kindermusik songs. Virtual families will receive their items by mail after the class.

Snowman Archery, Sat. Dec. 12  

Come learn the basics of archery and test your skills on Skidaway Is. State Park’s archery range. This program will cover basic safety and technique. Equipment will be provided. Participants must be at least 10 years old. Advance registration by phone is required as space will be limited to 4 participants per session, and social distancing will be required. There will be a special holiday target during these sessions. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time to make your way to the program location. Program fee: $10. Park pass fee required.

New Year’s Day 2021 Hike

Skidaway Island State Park in Savannah will host first day hikes on New Year’s Day 2021.

First Day Hike
Friday, Jan 1, 2021 1-3PM
Skidaway Island State Park – Savannah, GA
Kick off 2021 with a 3-mile hike on the Big Ferry Trail. Please make sure to bring appropriate footwear, water bottles, and bug spray. The terrain for this trail is flat with occasional roots. $5 parking. 912-598-2300. Details here. 

Santa visits will look different this holiday 2020 season in Savannah.

Some Santa visits/photos will be outside with masked Santas. Others at indoor malls will be through Plexiglass Santa shields. Kids can even zoom with Santa from home. Here’s a look at how your child can visit with Santa in Savannah during the pandemic.

Plant Riverside District Santa Meet & Greets, Photos

Santa visits, photos will take place outdoors during the holidays @ Savannah’s Plant Riverside District @ 400 W. River Street in downtown Savannah. Children will not sit on Santa’s lap but be positioned next to Santa. Two elves will help direct. Santa will have a white mask and children are encouraged to wear their mask. Parents or caregivers can take photos of children in the Santa setting. Visits start Fri. Nov. 28-Sat. Nov. 29, then resume Dec. 5-24. Details here.

First Day Fitness Hike

Start the year off with Wormsloe for a healthy 2.5 mile hike though the coastal maritime forest. A Wormsloe Ranger will lead the way and answer any questions that might arise. Christmas Drive-In Movie 

The City of Richmond Hill is hosting a Christmas Drive-in Movie at JF Gregory Park on Dec. 11, 2020 starting at 5:30PM.

A sign up will be released to reserve your spot, as parking will be limited.

In-person Santa visits will start Nov. 7 at Bass Pro Shops in Savannah by using a Santa shield

Bass Pro Shops @ Savannah Mall will have in-person Santa Claus visits for kids this holiday season by using a “magic Santa shield” at the store’s FREE Santa’s Wonderland experience.

The contactless visit with Santa includes:

Free Digital Reservations: Advance digital reservations are required for all guests and can be made online. Spots are limited to allow appropriate physical distancing and additional cleaning.

Temperature Screening: All families and team members will complete temperature screening with a non-contact thermometer prior to entering Santa’s Wonderland.

Magic Santa Shield: An innovative, glare-free clear protective barrier will be in place between Santa and families at all times to allow for a contactless experience. The shield is cleaned and sanitized between each visit.

Physical Distancing: Families will standby in a designated area away from other shoppers with fun winter wonderland-themed floor decals and signage to ensure a safe distance.

Santa’s Sanitation Squad: Santa’s team of elves will clean all surfaces between each visit and frequently ensure all safety measures are being implemented correctly.

Face coverings: All team members throughout the store are required to wear face coverings. Customer requirements vary by location based on local public health guidelines.

Santa arrives at 5PM Sat. Nov. 7. Santa visits run through Dec. 24 2020.

20th Anniversary Gingerbread Trail & Competition, Savannah

Unlike in years past when the gingerbread village was displayed at Westin Savannah on Hutchinson Is., this year the annual gingerbread tradition will be hosted by various businesses throughout downtown creating a new Gingerbread Trail.

Register as a youth group, family, business or in the Official Gingerbread Competition to win top prizes and support area charities.

Or register to host up to ten of the gingerbread houses. The Savannah Harbor Foundation will promote your business location and drive traffic directly to you. Create a special holiday offer like a gingerbread hot toddy or similar to maximize your sponsorship.
