Giving Tuesday 2016: Best Savannah charities to donate or volunteer

Giving Tuesday is today Nov. 29. This is a day to come together for one day to collectively raise money for nonprofits.

We asked the amazing SouthernMamas.com readers to tell us their favorite Savannah/Lowcountry charities. We received wonderful feedback. Below are their picks.

Two favorites this year are Hope Academy and Lutheran Services of Georgia in Savannah because of the work they do to help refugees – a group that may be even more at risk as a result of the 2016 presidential election.
