Georgia State Parks Your State Parks Day During Georgia State Park’s annual Your State Parks Day, participate in various service projects to help keep Georgia state parks beautiful.

Your State Parks Day 2015 is Sept. 26.

2015 Events in the Savannah area include:

Pollinator Garden Work Day – Your State Parks Day
Saturday, Sep 26, 2015 9 AM to 12 PM
Skidaway Island State Park – Savannah,
Volunteer for Your State Parks Day by weeding, mulching and adding new plants to our pollinator garden. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. 912-598-2300.

Your State Parks Day – Tabby Ruins and Jones Narrows Clean Up
Saturday, Sep 26, 2015 9 AM to 12 PM
Wormsloe Historic Site – Savannah
Join Wormsloe Historic Site in clearing brush and collecting firewood for Your State Parks Day. Dress comfortably. Work gloves will be provided. Walk-in volunteers are also welcome. Please register by Sept. 26th. Sponsored by the Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites. 912-353-3023.

Your State Parks – Day Red Bird Creek Trail Restoration
Saturday, Sep 26, 2015 9 AM to 4 PM
Fort McAllister State Park – Richmond Hill
Join us for our biggest clean-up event of the year. We will be pulling weeds, trimming plants, spreading mulch, painting, and doing many other maintenance projects. Bring the family or a club or scout troop. There is something for every age. T-shirts and door prizes provided by Friends of Georgia State Parks. No fees for volunteering. 912-727-2339.

Fort Pulaski fee free day

Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah will also be free on Sept. 26 for National Public Lands Day.
