Crossfit Hyperformance Athletics in Savannah: 3 Things All Kids Need When Working Out (and good for grown ups too)

Wednesday, April 26th, 2017

crossfit hyperformance kids classes savannah We all know there are many benefits of moving our bodies daily. Clarity of mind, stress relief, and a ton of feel-good hormones to name a few. Our kids are no different and in fact can benefit even more from exercise in some unexpected ways.

Crossfit Hyperformance Athletics in Savannah shares the following 3 elements which are a part of every Crossfit Kids class because they are so important for development.

Hanging. Crossfit kids love to climb on ropes and hang on rings. This is their favorite part of class! Hanging is important whether it’s from monkey bars or tree limbs because it stabilizes the shoulder girdle. This leads to better posture and performance in school and improved motor skills. It also helps to prevent injury later when kids participate in throwing sports.

Jumping / Landing. This is the number one factor increasing bone density and will set your child up for stronger bones through out life. Cutting out soda isn’t bad either if you want to maintain bone density. This is fabulous for adults, too.

Inversion. Going up-side-down whether a cartwheel, roll, or learning a handstand helps to train the inner ear. Movements like these help increase coordination and make kids more aware of how their bodies move in space. Coordination and awareness leads to better sports performance and reduces injury.
Of course, all these elements are great for grown-ups too!

FREE kids’ trial class

Kids can attend one free trial class. From now until June 5 2017, classes meet on Wednesdays at 4PM and Saturdays at 10AM (no class this Sat. April 29).

Adults can attend a free 1-on-1 session by appointment. For questions call 912-335-3615 or visit online at www.crossfithp.com.

Crossfit Hyperformance Savannah Kids' Fitness Classes Bootcamp

Community in Action @ Crossfit Hyperformance Athletics in Savannah

If you’re able to get in shape on your own – consider yourself one of the lucky few. Human beings are designed to thrive in groups. Science has shown over and over again that success in any endeavor – from losing weight to getting out of debt is more likely when you are part of a group.

We’re also more likely to reach that next goal with the help of a coach. Someone who can clarify the next win, help you incorporate the right tools and strategies to get there, and hold you accountable along the way. A good coach doesn’t just tell you what to do, but gets to know you and your motivations. They have the ability see potential before you see it in yourself.

At Hyperformance Athletics in Savannah, they incorporate powerful individual coaching with the energy and magnetism of being included in a group. People in groups progress faster because they learn from each other and embrace friendly competition. This is important for both kids and adults.

To learn more about Hyperformance Athletics proven process, The Winning Approach, schedule a free initial coaching appointment and workout. Or hop in on their next free workout: April 29 2017 at 10AM for The Squad Savannah Boot Camp (best for beginners) or May 6 2017 at 9AM for a regular class (great for folks that have been exercising on their own).

Junior Ranger National Park Monuments Savannah Your kids can become a Junior Ranger

Take advantage of the fact that we live within a day’s drive of multiple national parks & monuments & have your kids become a junior ranger at one or many of these sites.

When you take kids to tour national parks, you never know how much they are getting out of the visit. Especially for those of us moms who aren’t exactly history experts.

Which is why you need to pick up the Junior Ranger booklets at the visitor centers of national parks you visit. The Junior Ranger program kids engage more during the visits.

Junior Ranger booklets have activities about the national parks for ages 5-12. Junior ranger books are free to any visitor and usually are available at the visitors’ centers. Often, similar programs with more advanced activities are also available for older kids. Just ask at the site’s visitor center.

While doing the activities, children enjoy earning a badge and a certificate.

Nearby national parks/monuments that have Junior Ranger programs include:
*Fort Pulaski National Monument, on U.S. 80 en route to Tybee Island. Info on the Fort Pulaski Junior Program here.
*Fort Sumter & Fort Moultrie national monuments, Charleston, S.C. Info on these forts Junior Ranger program here.
